A Flowering Bunch {Close To My Heart}

For the past three days (while I've been sitting at home with a sick kiddo) I've been GLUED to Instagram, watching the Close to My Heart annual convention unfold. Gotta LOVE social media, my friends! My mom is there, somewhere, in a sea of crazy, crafty women, who help us feed our paper crafting addictions, through CTMH products. So in honor of the convention, which wraps up today, I thought I'd share two little CTMH projects today. Both of these cards feature the June stamp of the month set, called A Flowering Bunch. (And since June is quickly coming to an end, I thought I better share this QUICK!)

I embossed this first card in black embossing powder, and colored it in with marker. If you are hesitant about marker bleeding on a colored image, embossing is a safe way to color in small areas without worry! I popped the leaf up on foam tape for a little extra interest.  Sunset, Creme Brulee, and Smoothie cardstock from Close To My Heart  gave a summer sunset feel to this color-blocked layout.

For this second card, I did the opposite. . . .I embossed the flower in white, on black cardstock. Also striking, but a totally different look. I decided to leave this card without a sentiment, so as not to distract from the intricate flower.

If you'd like to spy on some of the fun and new products from Close To My Heart, check out #vivactmh on Instagram and Facebook, for 700 or so fun pictures! I'm excited to see the new papers, stamps, and JEWELRY kits in the new catalog. (Yes - JEWELRY!!!)
I'll be back on the first to share some NEW cards from The Stamps of Life! I love that there's ALWAYS something new to share! Have a great weekend!
xoxo Laura,

I am one of those crazy crafty women you describe! We had a blast. Missed both you and Aunt Nancy though.

Love your cards. This is not a stamp set on my must have list, but I especially love what you did with the black and white combo.
