It's a Birthday Bash! {Winnie & Walter}

Hello friends! I am really excited to share a project with you today. Can I tell you a story about it first? This card was created for the March issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. I was really excited about it because I loved the card, I loved the Winnie & Walter stamps I used on it, and I was excited to showcase and promote this fantastic company in our magazine. This project took a few revamps to get it just right, so when it finally came together, I was relieved and happy to be done with it. And then. . . . (insert ominous music here) we found out that our wonderful magazine would be no more - which meant, this card, the article, the work, and the generosity of Winnie & Walter would be for naught.

And then. . . . .(insert redemption music here) Shay and Julie from Winnie & Walter contacted me about sharing my work during their 1st Birthday Bash! Hooray! So now, without further ado, I am so pleased to share this project with you!

I used W&W's "The Big, the Bold and. . ." series to create this card. I am obsessed with these stamps. There are quite a few of them, and they all coordinate and work together to create pretty much every single sentiment you could ever need. (I am NOT exaggerating!) To make it even more fabulous, they have coordinating dies for the large words, and The Big, the Bold and Extras set has beautiful flowers and banners that coordinate. I used a giant acrylic block to lay out my sentiment just as I wanted it, and I embossed it with navy ink and clear embossing powder. It really made the sentiment POP.

Here's a tip that works especially well with rose-type flower stamps. To create a cluster of flowers, with some variety, trim off some of the outer petals to create a rosebud or smaller flower. I used one stamp to create this cluster, but I trimmed the smaller one to add some interest.
I am so glad that you stopped by today. If you haven't already, I hope you'll stop by and see my friends at Winnie & Walter. To celebrate their birthday, there are month long challenges (ten of them in all!) and each one of them will have a random winner of a $50 gift card! HELLLLLOOO, how amazing is that!? As if that isn't enough, there's also an opportunity to win each and every stamp set that is released by W&W during 2015. (Pick me! Pick me!)
