Bad to the Bone {Valentines for People Who Hate Valentines}

Valentines for people who hate valentines? Well, yes, maybe....Valentines for the biker dude or biker chick in your life? Perhaps. Valentines for teenagers who would be grossed out by someone giving them a Valentine? Yes, probably. Valentines for people who hate mushy stuff? Definitely.

Today's cards (there's two of them) feature the Bad Bones stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey. I thought it would be fun to create some non-Valentine Valentines using this stamp set. The style of these might not be for everyone...I'll be honest, I'm not even sure I like them! LOL! BUT...I think one could be perfect for hmmm, perhaps my 13 year old son, (who frequently acts like he's bad to the bone! HA!)
On the above card, I used the same technique with the Gel Press, and an embossed piece of cardstock. (See my instructions on this blog post.) Then I stamped the skull in the bottom right corner, in Clear Pigment Ink, and sponged over it with Black Licorice PanPastels. Sort of subtle, almost a watermark kind of look to it. The whole panel is a little dark, for this color-loving crafter - but I like the idea of it! It's an idea worth playing with!

On this card, I stamped the hearts in Clear Pigment Ink, and then sponged over them with Silver and Gold Pan Pastels. For the skull, I stamped and sponged him the same way as the background, but I did it on Black Licorice cardstock, instead of white.

I'd love to know what you think. (I promise I won't be offended if you say YUCK.) I'm curious though - do you think you know someone who might think a Valentine in this style is kind of cool? (Or maybe YOU think it's cool! Maybe?) Sometimes experimenting is good for us, even if we aren't sure of the results! It was a good stretch for me! Thanks so much for stopping by today! xoxo
