Cardmaking Idea - Layering Stamps to Make a Unique Background

It's Old Is New Day over on the Impression Obsession blog. It's easy (and fun) to keep adding the latest and greatest stamps and dies, but let's not forget about the older and well-loved products too. For today's card I pulled out a few stamps that work so beautifully together.

(This blog post contains affiliate links. If you shop through my links, I may receive a small compensation at no cost to you. And when you shop through my links, I do a happy dance! ;) Thank you!)

For this card, I wanted to create an interesting background by layering stamps. I just fell in love with this flower stamp, called Lg. Zinnia. It really is LARGE, so it's perfect for a main focal point on a card or even on a scrapbook page. It's also quite lovely as a background, no coloring even needed!

To begin this card, I stamped the flowers across a white cardstock panel. But to add some color and interest, I layered another stamped image on top. The Watercolor Lines background stamp is SO much fun. It has some texture to it, and it looks like wide brush strokes. It layered on so nicely, I think this background almost looks like patterned paper!

Another stamp I love is this sentiment. Isn't that the perfect uplifting sentiment for a friend? And the font combination is gorgeous. It embossed so beautifully on black cardstock. Love it! I really like the option to buy many stamps individually at Impression Obsession. That way you can get exactly what you want, if there's just a certain sentiment or certain image you want. (Obviously, there's more than ONE you want though LOL.) It's fun to pick and choose exactly the images you love best!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - and now, head to the Impression Obsession blog to find a link list of the designers participating in Old Is New! I'm sure they have some fabulous oldies-but-goodies to share with you!
