Meet the Gorgeous Posh Planters Stamps from Paper Smooches

Hello friends! I am thrilled to join the Paper Smooches designers this month for their August blog hop, celebrating the new release that hits the Paper Smooches online store tomorrow, August 7th. Paper Smooches has been a favorite stamp company of mine since the very first day they opened, so it is a treat to create with this new release of ADORABLE products.

Ready to take a look at the CUTENESS?
This card features one of two new stamp sets - called Posh Planters
(It has a coordinating die set too!)

I paired this image and sentiment with one of two new stencils, which I am TOTALLY in love with. I am SUCH a sucker for polkadots and this stencil features THREE sizes of dots on one stencil! (This post contains affiliate links - if you shop through my links I may receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!)
To make a background like this:
  • Begin with a panel of white cardstock. Attach a length of easily removable washi tape or a sticky note across where you want the patterns to meet. This creates a mask to block color from part of the panel.
  • Sponge aqua ink over the stencil to cover the top portion of cardstock.
  • Lift up the washi or sticky note and move it up to cover the edge of the aqua dots.
  • Lightly sponge yellow ink across the bottom portion of cardstock. Then, line up the tiny dots on the stencil and ink over them using the same ink.
  • Remove the tape and finish your card!
I heat embossed the succulent image and then I used Jane Davenport's Colorsticks  to color it in. The Colorsticks are fun to play with because they have a thick creamy feel but because they are water-soluble you can use them like watercolor. Once the images were dry, I scribbled on top with the Colorsticks to add some details to the image.

How about some more details about tomorrow's release and today's blog hop!?
