Oh friends, it's DECEMBER! The gloves are off and it's ALL holiday ALL the time now, baby! Today's card is a bit funky, a bit retro, and a lot of fun. You know I'm a fan of funky colors for Christmas and this Christmas card is BRIGHT and COLORFUL!

The Retro Ornaments die set is one that you could create with a thousand times and still find a new way to craft with it. This die set comes with lots of little pieces, but they're all attached to each other when you receive it. They cut apart simply with wire snips BUT. . . .here's what I suggest. The best way to use this die set is to keep the pieces attached, and run it through your die cutting machine a few times with different colors of cardstock. Then, you have a bunch of colorful pieces to mix and match.Once I assembled all of the cutie pie ornaments, I loosely stretched a piece of twine across the card base. It naturally wants to curl so I just let it do what it wanted to and I adhered each end with a tiny drop of clear glue. When I attached the ornaments with foam squares, I purposely adhered that dark pink on right on top of the loop in the twine so it would hold that part where I wanted it. Sneaky, yes?
With all these crazy colors, a crisp white background, simple sentiment, and a few pink gems seemed like the right finishing touches. When you have a lot of colors, patterns or busyness going on, it's always best to balance it with some simple white space.
Today's blog post is part of Die Cut Obsession Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate all things DIECUTTING! I hope you'll stop by the IO blog to see a list of all the designers participating. Thanks so much for stopping by today! xoxoIf you loved this card, you'll probably love this one too!
