For today's card I spent some time with my colored pencils. I stamped the image in Tin Pail ink, which is a very pale gray. It's beautiful for a no line stamping technique (also known as no line coloring.) With no line stamping, the goal is for the stamped lines to "disappear" as you color. By using a pale color of ink, sometimes just barely dark enough to see as you work, your coloring becomes the star of the show.
Let me show you the difference. The first card is today's card, compared with second card which I shared earlier this month. That earlier card was stamped using black ink, and also colored with colored pencils. Now, the coloring is a bit different, but you can see the difference especially on the leaves and flowers - the ink lines are much more subtle. Both are beautiful - because that stamp is just gorgeous, but a different finished look.
I kept the rest of this card SUPER SIMPLE, and just added some layers of paper and a splatter of Black Silk. I also added a shadow effect to the sentiment with a gray colored pencil. Subtle, but kind of fun to bump up the sentiment a little. (You can see the subtle difference in the above images between the sentiment too.)
The Stamp of the Month Club from FSJ+Spellbinders is such a fun thing - a monthly stamp set delivered to your door every month, with beautiful inspiration and ideas. That's some serious happy mail right there!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'd love to know - which card is your favorite - with the black lines or "no lines"? And have you ever tried no line stamping? This was a new technique for me, and I am having SO much fun with it!
