Fun Stampers Journey March 2019 Stamp of the Month - Good Places

Hello sweet stampy friends! Have you noticed that suddenly it is MARCH?! March 1 means it's time to share the latest FSJ Stamp of the Month, called Good Places. Today I have two cards to share with you, along with a fun cardmaking idea - using multiple embossing folders on one card. What!? It's obvious to use ONE embossing folder on a card, but have you ever used more than one? Let's take a look at this month's Stamp of the Month, and check out two ways to use more than one embossing folder on a handmade card.

(This post contains compensated affiliate links, If you shop via my links, i may receive a small compensation but there is no additional cost to you.)
The Good Places red rubber stamp set is darling for springtime, with windmills, a tulip, and wooden shoes. The sentiments are uplifting and sweet for encouragement cards. You can find the scoop on Fun Stampers Journey's Stamp of the Month Club on the website, as well as grab the coordinating dies!

To begin this card, I chose FOUR embossing folders that I thought would complement each other. I also chose FOUR scraps of cardstock that would complement my scene. It's a little abstract, but I did purposely choose shades of blue for the top portion, and some green for the bottom strip to give a slight impression of sky and land. (And maybe that Turbo Teal is water?)
Then I simply embossed each of the sections and adhered them to a white card base. It's very purposeful that they don't line up or match exactly. I like the loose patchwork feel to it. To highlight some of the embossing I VERY gently sponged some white ink onto a little texture on each piece.

The windmill was heat embossed, white onto Rich Coral cardstock, and I die cut that sun from the My Sunshine die set. (You guys, I can not stop using that sun. It is perfection on ALL THE THINGS. Seriously. I'm gonna need an intervention.) (all supplies are linked at the end of this post!)

Now let's look at another example of combining embossing folders. For the second card, I used just two embossing folders. I embossed two panels, one on Haystack cardstock and the other on Pineapple Smoothie. Then I cut them into strips. (Each 5.25" panel can be divided equally into three portions of 1.75". Look at all the math I did there.) Then I just combined three of the strips onto a Pool Play card base. (Plus I have three strips left over to make an additional card with.)

You can't see the most fun element of this card - but the windmill actually TURNS. So much fun. A silver brad holds the windmill in place, so it spins! A darling little element to this sweet stamp set.
If you've never used more than one embossing folder on a project, I challenge you - do it this week! Pull out a few favorites, and see what you can create. Embossing folders add such a nice touch of texture and pattern to handmade cards and crafts, and FSJ has some really fabulous ones

I hope you love this peek at the Good Places Stamp of the Month - I can't wait to see what you create. Be sure to hashtag your projects online with #FSJSOTM so we can all share in the inspiration!
