This first card has a layered, sketchy feel to it and I gave it to my father in law for his birthday. Appropriately, this stamp set from FSJ is called Nautical Sketch.
To begin this card I loosely stamped the Grid Paper background stamp onto my white card base.
Next, I stamped the compass image onto a panel of Oatmeal Cookie cardstock, and die cut a rectangle from the center of it - this made the "frame", which I adhered to the card with foam squares.
Then I stamped, colored and trimmed the ship and sentiment and adhered it to the card, along with some twine, and torn blue cardstock. A splattering of Silk finished it off.
The next card has a trendier and more of a clean and simple feel to it, and it features the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Out to Sea Die Set. How fun is that sentiment from the Anchor Me stamp set? (hee hee! love it!)
This card is mainly diecutting except for the fun sentiment. For the waves in the background, I trimmed along the wave line on the patterned paper to add some movement to the card. I love the way the rolling waves are slanted. Just a fun detail!
The Die D-Lites sets from Spellbinders are so much fun to play with and to make little scenes with.
