Three More Cute Ideas for Making Simple Circle-Shaped Cards

I am absolutely smitten with circle-shaped handmade cards. They are fun to decorate and they're quite simple to make. Today I've got THREE new circle-shaped cards to share with you, as we celebrate the latest release from Impression Obsession! This is the first stop on the blog hop and you do NOT want to miss the cute cards, new stamps, and PRIZES along the way, so let's get hopping!

Do you love to make shaped cards? These handmade card ideas for circle shaped cards are simple to create with die-cutting and stamping. Stop by my blog for three (or more) circle cards and simple instructions to make them yourself! You'll love this fun paper crafted project!

Have you ever created a circle-shaped card before? I promise, it's so simple:

  • First, die cut two circles that are the same size. (Think about the size circle you want your card to be, and if you want to use a fancy circle like a scalloped circle or stitched circle.)
  • Fold the top edge of one circle and crease well. Use a scoring board and/or a bone folder for a super crisp fold.
  • Add adhesive to the folded flap and stick the other die-cut circle on top to adhere the circles together. Hooray! You just created a circle card base! (For a photo of this step, check out this post.)
Circle of Life - this circle-shaped card was fun to color and fussy cut onto a circle card base. Stop by my blog to see a simple tutorial for making circle shaped handmade cards with circle dies. It's simple and you'll have fun with this paper crafting project. Stop by my blog for three (or more) fun ideas!
After creating a card base, now comes the fun part - decorating it! Two of the brand new stamps from Impression Obsession are what inspired today's circle cards. The first card features the Circle stamp. The round format is such fun to play with. I stamped the image on white cardstock and I colored it with markers, then fussy cut it to adhere to my card base.

I don't color enough to invest in expensive markers, but I do enjoy coloring so I recently took a risk and purchased Caliart alcohol markers from Amazon. I didn't know if they'd be good or not but I actually REALLY like them and they were a great price (less than $40 last time I checked) for 100 markers! I've been having fun with them.

After coloring, I stamped the image again and trimmed the center layers to add on top. I added some details with white gel pen, which adds a nice finishing touch! I absolutely love how this card turned out.

The next round image in this release is called Among the Wildflowers, and it's another sweet one for coloring. I used a combination of colored pencils and watercolor pencils to shade the flowers. Then I stamped the image on green cardstock and layered the grass on top. I finished it off again white gel pen.
You belong among the wildflowers! Stop by my blog to see three beautiful circle-shaped cards with simple instructions. All you need are some circle dies to create circle cards quickly and easily. You'll love these cardmaking ideas!
Lastly, here's an example of how to take non-round stamps and create a circle-shaped card. I added a strip of washi tape to ground this scene, and added the darling House to House and I Wish stamps. (See the white gel pen again? I can't stop!)
I wish our houses were connected by a tunnel - the cutest sentiment for a handmade card to say I MISS YOU! Stop by this blog post for three ideas for circle-shaped cards, made with simple nesting dies.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps fall card making project with the Vintage Van stamp set, featuring adorable van with pumpkins piled on top.
The Vintage Van clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is first of all ABSOLUTELY adorable - but it's also incredibly versatile which makes it an extra fantastic stamp set. For this card, I decked out the van with pumpkins on top, but there are options for Christmas and birthdays, plus all year long. At the end of this post, you'll see a fun birthday card idea.

There are some really fun details in this stamp set, and it's really packed with goodness: packed with images to customize the van, packed with sentiments, and even tiny sentiments to add to the license plate. On this card, I used a combination of colored pencils and watercolor pencils to color the images. Then I paired it with some REALLY fun patterned papers. I absolutely love this combination of prints and colors together.

I used some of the same colors for the next card, but it's a card for any time of year. There's the versatility I was talking about! I added the balloons to the side mirror and the van is ready for a birthday celebration. This card is a similar layout, but it's gone from fall to all-year long. (Wouldn't this be adorable for Valentines too?!)

I fussy cut these projects, but this stamp set also has a coordinating die set, and you can grab them bundled together for extra savings.

Did you Hear? Now Is the Perfect Time To Grab Your Crafty Favorites!

Hey there my crafty peeps! I was just perusing the amazing deals at this year's Warehouse Sale at Spellbinders Paper Arts, and I thought I'd pop over to share a few of my favorite projects that showcase some of the great crafty goodness that is at completely ROCK BOTTOM deals. I mean, I wouldn't be a good friend if I didn't share. . .right? (There are deals for as little as $1!) #sorrynotsorry

Spellbinders Paper Arts Warehouse Sale 2021
I think I'm going to start with my most favorite thing that's on sale right now. And that is. . . .
The Color Burst Colored Pencils, which are soft and buttery, and they color absolutely beautifully. They are normally $79.95 and right now you can grab them for $20 . . .even if you already have a set, this might be a good time to get some extras! (I know I use a couple of my colors a LOT!) Here are two projects I used my colored pencils on. (The stamp sets I used, Summer Fun and Too Cool, are on sale too!)
Two summertime handmade cards, with stamped images of popsicles, and beach toys, colored with colored pencils

Another favorite is the Hello Love stamp set. I've shared this one a few times, because I had the privilege of helping design this set, and the sentiments are my own handwriting. (There's also a coordinating die set.)

Handmade card with Let Your Light Shine sentiment, and covered in yellow stamped lightbulbs, accented with silver sequins, and black glittered washi tape.
Next up, (man, I have so many things I want to share!)  DIY Hoops. These adorable and oh-so-clever little babies are fun for tags, card embellishments, ornaments and more. Embroidery hoops have become really trendy to incorporate into other crafts, and this makes it easy to do. They're sort of like faux embroidery hoops - just made from wood, and ready to decorate with paper, fabric and more. Each pack comes with three sizes, and they are lots of fun to play with!

Find more details about this project, plus one more DIY Hoop idea on this blog post.

For my sports enthusiasts, I have always been a fan of the Go Team stamp set. This little stamp set is packed with cute images for all kinds of cards. Right now you can snag this stamp set for $2, so what are you waiting for?

Go Team Sports themed handmade card with blue foam finger, and #1 team pennant, using stamps and dies from Spellbinders Paper Arts.

Next up, I just want to share a few of the little bits of this and that, that I add to so many of my projects. They're honestly the embellishments I turn to over and over, and they are tried-and-true for me. And now is DEFINITELY the time to stock up!
One more embellishment I can't live without are these adorable tiny paper clips! Such a fun little embellishment and they come in a big pack of 100 for just $1 right now. So you really better grab two packs!

And before you finish your shopping, be sure to check the cardstock that's on sale. All of the FSJ colors that are left are marked down, and they're a FANTASTIC price for FANTASTIC quality and colors of cardstock! Definitely stock up now before these colors are GONE! Here's a bright Valentine card featuring a few of my favorite colors of FSJ cardstock.

Handmade valentine card with a baby envelope and hearts background that says Happy Valentine's Day, with pink flowers and a white bow.

Thanks for stopping by today for a little crafty enabling! I had fun looking at all the great sales, and thinking about the projects I've made with some of these best-loved products from Spellbinders and FSJ.

Warm and Cozy Fall Cards You'll Love (New from Impression Obsession)

Yesterday I promised you warm and wonderful fall goodness, and here I am to serve it up. Today's handmade cards will have you ready for the glow of autumn sunflowers, wheat fields, and a thankful cluster of fall pumpkins. It's part of Impression Obsession's September release, and I'm grateful to share it with you! Let's take a look...

A handmade card featuring a sweet girl holding a giant sunflower, and standing on a colorful rainbow, nestled in a sea of clouds. The image was colored with alcohol markers, in warm tones of pinks, and yellows. The sky is aqua cardstock, to add contrast to the warmth of the girl, flower, and rainbow. The card base is dark pink.
Today's first card would actually be perfect for any time of year, but that giant sunflower definitely makes it perfect for fall card making. This sweet girl is just darling for birthdays, encouragement cards, and more. I colored her with alcohol markers, and nestled her in a bed of clouds. I actually used a cream cardstock, which I don't do very often, but I liked the warmth and cozy glow it added to this card.

The sky is aqua cardstock, to add contrast to the warmth of the girl, flower, and rainbow. The card base is dark pink. In this image, the card is resting on a yellow envelope, on a dark woodgrain background.
Next up, a more traditional fall scene, which was so much fun to color, using my favorite colored pencils. If you know me and my cards, you know I have to add some aqua into fall cards - I love the contrast of it against the warm and cozy yellows, pinks, and oranges. The embossed background, with just a little tone-on-tone inking added a not-too-busy background for this gorgeous splash of flowers and pumpkins.
This is a handmade fall card with an aqua background. The focal point is a spray of sunflowers and pumpkins, with greenery. It was colored in warm colors with colored pencils. There is a notched tag that says Give Thanks, tucked into the plants. The sunflowers and pumpkins are resting on a strip of Kraft colored corrugated stock, and dark brown cardstock, wrapped with yellow twine. The stamps are from Impression Obsession. The card is resting on a yellow envelope, on a dark brown woodgrain surface.
A few layers of cardstock, corrugated stock, and twine, along with a sentiment finished off this card. It would make a great fall thank you card, or a Thanksgiving card. If you aren't a fan of detailed coloring, a quick splash of watercolor paints would be fabulous with this stamp too. It doesn't have to be detailed and fussy.

Last up for today, a slimline card, perfect for fall. The Wheat stamp is part of Impression Obsession's Slimline Scenes and it's so pretty! I began with a sheet of white cardstock, and inked up shades of pink, orange, and yellow on my Gel Press. I pulled a print to reveal this glowing sunrise sky. Then, I simply stamped the Wheat stamp on top and added a simple sentiment. Remember you'll want to use a stamping platform, like the MISTI, when using these large 8.5-inch long stamps.
This is a slimline size handmade card (8.5x3.5") It features a wheat field stamped onto a blending pink, orange, and yellow sky that looks like sunrise or sunset. The sentiment says So Very Grateful. This would be a perfect handmade card for autumn thank you cards, or Thanskgiving cards. All of the stamps are from Impression Obsession.
