How to Make a Splash with the New Hello Summer Collection!

What is the very BEST way to welcome in summer? Is it the sand between your toes, the ocean in your ears, and the warm sun shining down? Is it fireflies flickering in the starry night sky? It's probably ALL of those things - so what better way to start the summer, than some crafty goodness to celebrate the sea and the sky? This weekend, Fun Stampers Journey + Spellbinders welcome two new collections, Starry Night and Splash Zone - which together make up the Hello Summer launch!

And what better way to celebrate a launch of new crafty products, but with a PARTY! The Hello Summer Launch Party aired LIVE on Saturday June 22nd, and we want YOU to join us - because you can catch the replay ANY time! This show includes awesome designers sharing inspiration and demos, giveaways, games, and crafty shenanigans. (Always with the shenanigans!) Plus, there will be great deals on bundled products from the new collections.
Would you like a sneaky peek of two projects featuring the Splash Zone collection?! (Say yes, PLEASE, because I've been excited to share these with you!!!) This blog post contains affiliate links, so if you shop through my links I may make a small commission at no additional cost to you!

This first card features the Making Waves Stamp Set, which is complete with darling mermaids and cutie patootie sea creatures! I colored these images with colored pencils, but be sure to check out the website because the samples on the website show lots of different ways to color these beauties - and they are MERMAZING! (Sorry - I couldn't help myself!)
For the background of this card, I used the new Splash Zone Stencil. I sponged some ink over it and splattered some Beach Ball Silk to finish it off.

Next up, are some fierce - okay, friendly - watercolored sharks. I stamped and watercolored these guys, and then I had NO idea what to do to finish this card. I stamped the sentiment, and then I looked at this for days and I couldn't figure out how to bring it all together. Finally, just before I was about to throw it in the trash, I had a strip of striped paper on my desk, and BAM - I figured out it was just what this Shark Attack card needed! Phew!

Did you notice the super fun bite marks in the sentiment? I LOVE that detail!
PS. Be sure to visit my friend and partner in crafty crime, Mariana Grigsby - she has a super fab project featuring the Starry Night collection, on her blog today!
