Are you looking for some simple mini Valentine card ideas to make? Do you love a stamp that could be used for Valentines, but that you'll also use all year long on handmade cards? Visit my blog to see ideas featuring the Kitty Hugs stamp, that says Here's a Hug, from Impression Obsession for handmade Valentine cards. These colorful and fun cardmaking ideas for Valentine's Day are simple and sweet and fun to make, including some card ideas for kids to color themselves.

Today is day 1 of our two-day blog hop celebrating the February stamp release at Impression Obsession. I have quite a few cards to share with you - and they all share one thing in common. They only use ONE STAMP. Just one, my friends! This fantastic Kitty Hug stamp is versatile, fun, and sweet for a variety of occasions. Today's cards could be Valentine cards - but they don't have to be. And I love that!

Make a simple "Here's a Hug" handmade card using one simple rubber stamp from Impression Obsession. This paper-pieced kitty cat would be adorable for a Valentine card, but can be used all year long for thinking of you and encouragement card making ideas handmade with stamping. Visit my blog to see more ideas using this adorable red rubber stamp.

On today's first two cards I paper-pieced the stamped image with some bits of patterned paper for fun layered cards.  I'm ALWAYS ALWAYS a sucker for pink, aqua + black and white. I just can't help myself!

Next up - if you're looking for a SIMPLE Valentine card idea to give to kids, or for your kids to give to others, check out this idea . . .
Make a set of cute mini Valentines cards that kids can color themselves, using an adorable cat "Here's a Hug" stamp from Impression Obsession and patterned paper. This is a fun and simple Valentine card idea that kids can color themselves.
It honestly doesn't get much easier than this:
  • Cut cardstock in shades of pink and aqua into 3x3 mini cards.
  • Add a 3x3 piece of coordinating patterned paper to the card front
  • Stamp the image onto white cardstock, trim, and adhere to the card front. DONE. Check out your stash of stamps - you might have something that's just perfect for this card idea already!
Give these to your kids, students, or grandkids to color (whether they're the recipient or the giver, they'll have fun finishing off these simple cards.) Think beyond this card - this would be a fun idea for birthday, thank you, or other holiday themed cards. Pick a simple stamp that's easy to color, and help the little people in your life make cards to send to loved ones.

UPDATE: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Kitty Hug stamp has been discontinued. . . but WAIT. The good news is that Nola Chandler has some other adorable stamps at Impression Obsession that could work beautifully for a similar card idea. Check out a few of my favorite Valentine-themed Nola stamp sets:

Aw. That is a very sweet design. It takes a good eye to be able to envision a whole card around a single stamp that isnt huge!
