You Might Love These Two Colorful Birthday Cards With Simple Die Cutting!

Today's blog post features a great little die set that makes the coolest birthday cards. It's simple to use, and there are so many creative ways to use it! I'll show you two different ideas today, as part of Die Cut Day at Impression Obsession

The Circle Birthday Cutout Set is a simple die set with three circle shaped dies that cut the negative space and leave behind adorable balloons, a wrapped gift and a birthday cake. To create this first card, cut each element twice to cover the black panel. (These three dies come attached together, so I didn't separate them which makes it easier to die cut all three at once.) Then add different colors of cardstock behind the background. You can use scraps for this, or a circle punch slightly larger than the die cut shape. To finish off this card, add a simple sentiment from the On This Day clear stamp set. (This card gets bonus points because both the stamps and dies are on clearance . . .plus on SALE on top of that!)

To create the next look, die cut the birthday shapes and then cut the outside border with a slightly larger circle die or circle punch. Then add some enamel dots and stamped sentiments, also from the On This Day stamp set.

I've really been having fun with patchwork backgrounds using patterned paper scraps too - and it added lots of fun colors and prints to this card!

Today is Die Cut Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate all things die-cutting - stop by the IO blog to find links to all the designers participating! And today is even MORE important, because it's the perfect time to do some shopping while the ENTIRE stock of stamps and dies are 20% (including clearance) at Impression Obsession! Today's stamps and dies are already on clearance, so you won't believe how awesome the price is!

Did you catch the big news from Impression Obsession? April 30 2022 is the last day to order red rubber stamps (except Cover-a-Card backgrounds and slimline stamps) to make way for a new selection of high quality photopolymer clear stamps, and of course their amazing dies that you already know and love. And in the meantime, all stamps and dies (including clearance) are 20% off with code 2022.

Thanks so much for hopping and shopping with us! There's SO much crafty goodness coming up from Impression Obsession!

love using the Magic Mat from scrapbook.com with my die cutting machine, because it alleviates those pesky cutting lines on the underneath side of die cut shapes. You know, the ones from your best used cutting plates?

One last note: Remember, Impression Obsession's rubber stamps aren't completely going away. In addition to the slimline and C0ver-a-Card stamps, IO started an awesome new limited edition red rubber stamp set that will release monthly.  Find the April Set Here!
