Let's take a look at some colorful card making inspiration plus I'll share the scoop on the Going, Going, Gone Sale at Impression Obsession. Today's cards feature something that every single one of you beautiful crafters has handy. PAPER SCRAPS. You know... those super cute paper scraps that might be filed in color coordinated folders, or maybe tossed in a box - but you know you have them! And today's projects are perfect for all the bits and pieces of paper in your stash. The backgrounds on both cards are like a messy patchwork quilt with no rules, and no stitching. Here are my patchwork background tips: Go through your paper stash and pick out a few basic colors to become your color palette. I chose a few shades of pink, yellow, and greens. Then just see what combinations make you happy. Pay attention to the size of the patterns, so they don't overwhelm each other. I tend to prefer tone-on-tone papers like many of the ones in my cards, because they're less busy. Think about how the colors or prints will interact with whatever stamped or die cut shapes will be the focal point of your card. I used a coordinating patterned paper for my large hearts, which really tied the entire cards together.
