Two Spooky and Sweet Halloween Cards With Sparkles and Stripes

'Tis the season for all the sweet and spooky you can handle! I always have fun with the color, playfulness and contrast on handmade Halloween cards. My go-to style is always SWEET meets SPOOKY, and these two cute card ideas are definitely lots of fun for Halloween! Let's take a look and I'll show you how I added some glittery sparkle foam, plus some simple handmade stripes to bring these cards together.

Let's talk STRIPES first, shall we? Both of today's cards feature similar, but not quite the same, cardstock stripes. For the spider card, I covered the base with strips of cardstock that I purposely cut a little wonky. There's the the start of the playfulness I love on Halloween cards! To balance all that busy pattern, I added a die-cut circle cut from glittered foam. Then I added two quite friendly spiders, and their speech bubbles. (So cute, right?!) Wonky stripes + glitter + talking spiders definitely = FUN for Halloween.

On the next card I cut straight stripes, and adhered them all right next to each other on a cardstock piece. Then, I die-cut a circle from the panel for a simple striped circle. (The inspiration for this technique came from the amazing Laura Bassen. Find her original idea here.) Glitter foam for the ghost and sentiment adds a fun pop of sparkle and dimension to this card.
