Fall in LOVE with the Heart to Heart Release at Simon Says Stamp!

The holiday decor is put away (well, maybe...) so it's time to start thinking about Valentine's Day card making. All of today's cards and products can be used for Valentine's Day, but they can also be used for anniversary, thinking of you, or just to say hello to a friend. It's all part of the latest release from Simon Says Stamp, called Heart to Heart, and you might just LOVE it!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

We'll start off with Locket of Love. I used the new stamp set, as well as the coordinating stencil. The stencil makes it easy peasy to add color to the jewelry pieces in the set, and the sentiments are really pretty too!
I added some dimensional glaze and glitter to the pearls, and I spritzed over everything with Simon Hurley Solar Spray (in Royal Flush.) It adds a subtle but very pretty metallic sheen and splatter to the card in person.
Next up, a clean and simple card - again, this might be a Valentine, but it would be a super sweet anniversary card as well. It features the new Hearts Aplenty die, and I paired it with the Love You sentiment from the Locket of Love stamp set.
And lastly - this might be the perfect Valentine or all occasion card for your bestie! This card uses two new products. First, the absolutely ADORABLE Groovy Wishes stamp set, which includes lots of words to mix and match. (They offer coordinating dies too!) Second, something used in a surprising way . . .the Falling Snow background die. Flipped upside down, I decided the falling snow reminded me of champagne bubbles, or maybe a lava lamp, perfect for this groooovy card!

I hope you'll stop by  Simon Says Stamp today to check out the entire Heart to Heart release. It's packed with products and inspiration to get back to crafting, now that the holiday season is behind us. Wishing you a very crafty January and a beautiful new year! xoxo

Pretty in Pink Handmade Valentine Card Ideas

Shades of pink paired with black, white and kraft are a fun color combination for Valentine cards this year! Today let's look at two ideas that you can create with this fun color combo!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
One of my favorite techniques on kraft colored cardstock is adding white colored pencil and/or white gel pen. Just some little details and shading add a fun POP to darker cardstock colors. It also helps brighten up the kraft so it doesn't feel dingy or dull for a cheerful Valentine card. On today's cards I used both colored pencil and gel pen to add some highlights and finishing touches to the designs. It's a little doodling, and a little coloring that makes a big bright impact!
I love love love the heart background on this card. I'm ALWAYS here for polka dots, so this heart jumped out at me BIG TIME! It was a simple way to create a fun background, and then all this card needed was a a few layers to balance out the pattern and keep the focal point on the sweet sentiment.
Today is Team Favorites day on the Impression Obsession blogIt's the day the designers celebrate some of our favorite cards and products from this month's release. Stop by the blog for a list of everyone participating, and then see what cuteness they've created!

Look at these Cutie Patootie Valentine Card Ideas: Brand New from Impression Obsession!

Some of the most fun handmade cards to make are Valentines! Today's pinkalicious Valentine ideas are perfect for your bestie and all three of them feature the A Heart For You stamp set from Impression Obsession. It's day 2 of our 3 day new release celebration, and I can't wait to show you three ways to use this adorable stamp set!

A Heart for You has the cutest little images on it. (You might remember them from yesterday's Valentine card!) On today's first card, I stamped and fussy cut some images and clustered them together on a die cut rectangle.  (Although this stamp set does have coordinating dies too.) So sweet and simple!
Next up, I stuck a bunch of images onto one block together and stamped a super quick background. I love this technique with small stamps that can be clustered together. My tip for this technique is to lay out the images on a block to make a square or rectangle shape, so you won't have awkward empty spots when you stamp repeatedly. BUT, have no fear if you end up with empty spaces, just go back and fill in with a small image on it's own. The sentiment for this card came from another ADORABLE new stamp set by Nola Chandler, called Valentine Hearts.

On the card below, I used a cluster of images again, but I added a layer of vellum over the top so that my sentiment (created with the new Capital Alphabet dies) would really be the focus.

Don't Miss These Tic-Tac-Toe Card Ideas for Valentines and Coffee Lovers! {New from Impression Obsession}

YOU can make the cutest handmade cards in any theme, with one adorable die set plus whatever stamps, dies or embellishments you want. I'll show you two adorable ways to use the Scalloped Nine-Patch dies plus some SUPER cute new stamps and dies from Impression Obsession to make a Valentine and a coffee-themed card!

The Scalloped Nine-Patch die set creates the scalloped border, plus the tic-tac-toe shaped outline, and don't forget the space inside each square. To create the Valentine card, cut the die from light pink, dark pink, and black cardstock and then add in some fun Valentine elements. The sweet images from IO's new A Heart For You clear stamp set are perfect for this idea, because there's lots of small-ish Valentine images to choose from.
Next up, a coffee version of the same card. See? You can TOTALLY do this, using whatever images or even just cute embellishments that you want to use. The stamps on this card are from the new Bean Thinking clear stamp set. It's another fun set with cute little coffee images and sentiments. (I'll have some more coffee cards to share with you this week!)

I mixed and matched with die cut X's and O's on both of these cards, from the new Capital Alphabet die set. It's a fantastic new alpha die set that's the perfect size for card sentiments. (The whole alphabet can be cut from a 4.25x5.5-inch piece of cardstock.)

Speaking of NEW products, I hope you'll stop by the Impression Obsession website to see all the products in this month's release. Then, hop around to the designers' blogs. We're having a THREE DAY blog hop (this is day one!) and we've all got some fabulous new inspiration to share with you!

It's Time for Impression Obsession Faves from the December Release!

LOVE is in the air here on the blog today, with some pretty-in-pink handmade card ideas for Valentines Day. These cards are showcasing two die sets from Impression Obsession that might seem similar at first glance - but they pair together so perfectly, you'll definitely want both in your stash!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

Today's cards feature the new Love 'n' Hugs die set, which includes a large LOVE and XOXO die. You might recognize the font from some of IO's previous word die sets, like Typewriter Sentiments and Love Words. This set is sized a bit larger so the words can stand alone as the focal point of your card. (Catch some more ideas on this blog post.) Today I want to show you some ideas that combine the larger Love 'n' Hugs words with the smaller Love Words set, because they play off each other so well.

For my first card, I paired the large LOVE with the smaller you. Total cuteness, right!? I absolutely love it when a new product brings fresh possibilities to an older product in my stash, and Love 'n' Hugs does exactly that.
My second card pairs the large XOXO along with the smaller be mine and hearts. Again, a perfect combination. If you love to make Valentine and love themed cards and gifts, and/or you love word dies - I highly recommend both of these sets.
Today is Team Favorites day on the Impression Obsession blog, so it was the perfect day for my to show off these new (and older) favorites of mine!  I'm so glad you stopped by today for some LOVEly inspiration! Be sure to hit all the designer blogs to see what favorites they have to share. And then. . .if you must, do a little shopping at Impression Obsession! (After all, it's Christmas time!)

Big, Bold Love Word Dies for Valentines Day Crafts {Impression Obsession's NEW Release!}

We're down to crunch time of the Christmas season, but let's take a minute to think ahead. . .past the hustle and bustle of holiday craziness, and on to the sweet season of Valentines Day. Before you know it, it'll be February and you'll be crafting up Valentine cards and crafts for those you love. The December release at Impression Obsession has a little something special for New Years, Valentines Day, and some all-occasion stamps and dies you'll LOVE to have in your stash!

 This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

Today I crafted up a trio of Valentine cards in three different shapes: a mini slimline, and circle card, and a standard A4 size. All three cards use the Love 'n' Hugs die set, which I am totally smitten with. These big bold word dies fill a card perfectly, and they'll pair beautifully with stamps and other dies in your collection. For the first two cards, I die cut the XOXO twice, layering it with a shadow. And for the LOVE card, I die cut the word 5 times from pink and red cardstocks to create a fun ombre effect.

These cards and sweet and simple and easy to duplicate, if you want to try these ideas for mass-produced Valentines for all your people.

I hope you'll stop by the Impression Obsession website to see all the cute new products in this month's release. Then, hop around to the designers - they've all got some fabulous new inspiration to share with you!
