It's a two-post day! Be sure to click here for Day 2 of Winnie & Walter's Week to "Die" For!
It's been so much fun joining the girls at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog, during the month of February! (Super puffy hearts to Susan Opel for the invitation!) I'll be excited to watch this new crafty hangout expand and grow! So let's get right to it. Wednesday means a new sketch challenge - and this week's is #217.
You know the drill. . .you'll have to head over to the challenge blog to see my whole card, but here's a teaser - lots of paper-piecing on this one (you know it's one of my favorite techniques!) Polka-dotted Spring Tulips?? Yes, PLEASE! Come on over to see this clean and simple gem. I was pretty loose with the sketch - I wonder what I used instead of banners on my card?????
But don't go just yet. . . as I've been busy creating more than just the sketch card! I created this card for a friend who asked for some Easter cards to send out. Let me tell you what I did. I needed an Easter sentiment, and shockingly, I have very little Easter goodness in my stash. I decided to create a Happy Easter sentiment on my computer. I printed it out on cardstock and then I stamped only the TOP part of the above stamp, just above my computer-generated sentiment. Are you impressed?? (I was kind of impressed too!) It came together easier than I expected! It makes me happy to work with what I have, and get creative. (I added some of my favorite stitched dies from Lil' Inker Designs on this card too!)
Instead of paper-piecing, on this card I colored the tulips with Touch Twin Markers. I am completely uneducated when it comes to alcohol markers. I just mess with it until it works. I was pretty pleased with how these came together.
Please head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog to see my sketch card, as well as cards from the design team. Remember to try your hand at the sketch, and share a link on the blog for a chance to win an MFT $20 voucher! How sweet is that!?
If you're new to my blog - thanks so much for coming by! I hope you'll hang out more often! Feel free to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest - you'll find the links right up there in the sidebar! Have a beautiful day! xoxo
