Graduation Card {2015 #senior}

Hello friends! I have had today's card for. . .umm, AGES. But it's finally the right time to share it. I dusted this baby off, from the stash of Would-Have-Been-Published cards for Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. This card would have been published around now, if we hadn't said goodbye to our sweet dear magazine.

Today, in the midst of graduation season is the perfect time to share it with you. I have long lost the supply list, but I can tell you it's a combination of dies and stamps from some of my favorite companies. Seriously, I used a ton of different stuff together on this card:

The stamps are LLD Happy Graduation and the number dies are LLD Bright Lights Numbers and Symbols, both from My Favorite Things.

The banner die is from Paper Smooches Streamers dies.

The Hello sentiment die is the Say It - Hello die from Technique Tuesday. (I love that die with all my heart!)

And last but not least, the cloud dies are from Lawn Fawn, from Spring Showers.

It's almost JUNE! I can't believe summer is pretty much upon us! My littlest just graduated from preschool, and he is ready to take on the world in Kindergarten next year. Want a sneak peek from his graduation?  Yes, that's my man, using his diploma as a spy glass. He's a classy guy!

I'm off to Phoenix this week, to be at the Fun Stamper's Journey annual convention. (Follow me on Instagram for updates along the way!) I'll be demoing some fun projects, and helping out with classes, (as well as perhaps sipping a fruity drink by the pool if i can escape for a little while!) But I'll be HERE just the same. . .new release from Lil' Inker Designs is coming up too, so be sure to join in the 3-day blog hopping, which starts June 1st! Hugs! xoxo

MFT Sketch #217 {My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog}

It's been so much fun joining the girls at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog, during the month of February! (Super puffy hearts to Susan Opel for the invitation!) I'll be excited to watch this new crafty hangout expand and grow! So let's get right to it. Wednesday means a new sketch challenge - and this week's is #217.
You know the drill. . .you'll have to head over to the challenge blog to see my whole card, but here's a teaser - lots of paper-piecing on this one (you know it's one of my favorite techniques!) Polka-dotted Spring Tulips?? Yes, PLEASE! Come on over to see this clean and simple gem. I was pretty loose with the sketch - I wonder what I used instead of banners on my card?????
But don't go just yet. . . as I've been busy creating more than just the sketch card! I created this card for a friend who asked for some Easter cards to send out. Let me tell you what I did. I needed an Easter sentiment, and shockingly, I have very little Easter goodness in my stash. I decided to create a Happy Easter sentiment on my computer. I printed it out on cardstock and then I stamped only the TOP part of the above stamp, just above my computer-generated sentiment. Are you impressed?? (I was kind of impressed too!) It came together easier than I expected! It makes me happy to work with what I have, and get creative. (I added some of my favorite stitched dies from Lil' Inker Designs on this card too!)
Instead of paper-piecing, on this card I colored the tulips with Touch Twin Markers. I am completely uneducated when it comes to alcohol markers. I just mess with it until it works. I was pretty pleased with how these came together.
Please head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog to see my sketch card, as well as cards from the design team. Remember to try your hand at the sketch, and share a link on the blog for a chance to win an MFT $20 voucher! How sweet is that!?

If you're new to my blog - thanks so much for coming by! I hope you'll hang out more often! Feel free to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest - you'll find the links right up there in the sidebar! Have a beautiful day! xoxo

MFT Sketch #215 {My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog)

It's a two-post kind of day! After this post, keep on reading (or click here)  for more crafty fun featuring Lil' Inker Designs!

Hello friends! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new sketch at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog! Please meet sketch # 215.
To see my whole card, you'll have to head on over to the MFT Challenge and Inspiration Blog, but here's a sneak peek to hold you over. I really, really love the way this card turned out, so I hope you'll stop back here and let me know what you think of it! I used a lot of vellum - I'm totally digging vellum lately!
To create the flowers, I tapped these awesome solid stamps, from the new MFT stamp set, LJD Spring Tulips, in a variety of shades of pigment ink. The colors blended together so nicely and created some lovely flowers, just perfect for springtime. (It's on it's way, especially in Florida!)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm having such fun as a guest designer at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog! I hope you'll try out sketch #215, and link up your project over there, for a chance to win a $20 MFT gift voucher!

Have a beautiful day, my friends! xoxo

MFT Sketch 214 {My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog}

During the month of February, I am thrilled to be joining the talented gals at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog! I'll be sharing a card based on the weekly sketches, each Wednesday, throughout the month. I hope you'll play along and join in the fun!
It's been a long time since I created a card from a sketch - I forgot just how much fun it is! Sometimes my projects look very much like the sketch, but often I like to flip it or twist it around. Today is the first day of sketch #214 - you can create a card or any other paper crafted project you'd like, using this week's sketch. Be sure to link your project at the MFT challenge blog for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20!

So without further ado, here is the sketch. . . but if you want to see my card, well, you'll have to head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog! But never fear, here on my lovely little blog, I have a coordinating card that I created, that matches my sketch card - and what's that I see? Why yes, it's a sneak peek of my sketch card peeking out from underneath.

To create this card, I stamped the buttons on white cardstock. Then I layered a piece of vellum over the top. The amazingly cool headphones are a new die set from MFT, (Headphones Die-namics) that coordinates with the new Keep On Rockin' stamps. I adhered the die cuts and stamped the musical note and sentiment right onto the vellum.

Vellum can be tricky to adhere, so I used staples to attach it to my card.

Please head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog. You'll see my sketch card, plus projects from the design team, and you can submit your sketch card for a chance to win!

If you're visiting for the first time, thanks so much for coming! I'd love for you to follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. You can find the links in my sidebar!

Happy New Year!

It seems that I don't make New Years card - like, EVER. This is probably because I am still in a post-Christmas coma. Or perhaps because we generally spend the week between Christmas and New Years out of town.

At any rate, I managed to dig this one out of the "archives" for you today. It features My Favorite Things stamps, and some lovely fluffy Flower Soft. (Poppy Red perhaps?) I colored this lovely girl in colored pencils, and added a little bling, because EVERY New Years card needs some bling! I believe this card was posted on the Card Positioning Systems blog many moons ago.
I promise I'll be back in the coming days with NEW cards - like some fabulous new goodness from The  Stamps of Life!!! (It's an awfully cute set this month! Giggle giggle!)

Hoping we'll all enjoy another fabulous year together! Happy 2013, my friends!

the queen of cards forgotten

I have a pretty good-sized stash of cards sitting here in a folder on my desktop. All cards that I never posted on my blog, thanks to the holidays, traveling, birthdays, and all the fall and winter fun that drew me away from my blog.  (and i don't regret it ONE BIT!)

because i am working on lots of publication projects that i can't share, i don't have anything new for you, for a few days. . . .so here are a few more well-loved but not-yet-posted cards.

I managed to pull together these three cards, which have absolutely nothing to do with each other - but their color schemes match, and look nice together.  So here you go!

I am embarrassed to say I think I did this card over the SUMMER. it features stamps from Amuse.  Super clean and simple, but I like it! (And I had fun coloring the lighthouse with colored pencils.)
This card was part of a blog hop for Operation Write Home, and I think it was featured on the Sizzix blog a few months ago. I used stamps and dies from Stephanie at The {Stamps} of Life.  (That banner die is the BEST!)

And last but not least, a CPS card featuring Flower Soft, and stamps from My Favorite Things.  Again I used colored pencils (because this was before I had my shiny new markers!!!) :)

Today's agenda involves Target, the grocery store, and baking my Amish Friendship Bread, which has been fermenting on the kitchen counter for 10 days.  (Because it's SUPPOSED to, people, not because I forgot about it!)  Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Pucker Up!

Sketch #222 at the CPS blog was sponsored by My Favorite Things.  I just adore the line of Pure Innocence stamps.  They are so sweet!!! I struggle with them though, because I am not a marker-colorer.  No Copics or fancy markers in this house.  I love colored pencils, but I don't often love the way they turn on on my cards.  This one miraculously worked out though.  I used a combination of paper-piecing, and colored pencils to add color to this sweet little image.  (And yes, I know - again with the aqua! I can't help myself!)  This fun paper collection is from My Mind's Eye and the ribbon is from Offray (I might as well go back and buy six more rolls of this aqua ribbon!) I also added just a little bit of twine from The Twinery (swoon!)

On Monday I'll pop back in and share the Father's Day card we made (well, *I* made) for the hubby.  It looks pretty stinkin' cool, if I do say so myself!!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

tooty fruity, you're a cutie!!!!

My Favorite Things is sponsoring the CPS blog this week . . .and when I saw this stamp set, called "Feelin' Fruity?" I HAD to have it! How could you go wrong with smiling fruit, and punny phrases!!!? They just make me smile! I can't wait to play some more with this stamp set!! This week's sketch is #170. Be sure to link up your card to the CPS blog for a chance to win goodies from My Favorite Things. And if you're on Facebook, be sure to post your work on our Facebook page for a chance to be chosen as our Featured Fan, on Fridays!

CPS 142 and some sweet new cardstock!

Hello! Hello! I am happy to be selling a lot of stamps from the post below. . .be sure to check it out if you are looking for some stamps to buy! (Aren't we all ALWAYS looking for stamps to buy!?) ;)
CPS's sketch this week is sponsored by My Favorite Things. I used this cute teapot from MFT, some October Afternoon patterned paper, a sticker from K&Company, plus some cardstock from a NEW company - called Couture Cardstock. They sell textured and smooth cardstock in a variety of weights. This red cardstock from their Seduction collection - a monocromatic collection of beautiful pinks and reds. The brown cardstock is from the Confectionary collection. (I was sold on the name alone!!! Yumm!)
Once again, I feel as though I haven't had a chance to sit down and work in WAY too many days. I sense a batch of projects due at the end of the month, looming before me though - so sometime between the Thanksgiving festivities, and a baby who likes to eat all night, I must find some time! We are taking that eating-baby on his first roadtrip for Thanksgiving. Six hours in the car. I might need a STRONG drink after that trip!!! Hopefully it will go well, as we are planning to travel again the week after Christmas . . .and I don't want to be dreading it!
Have a wonderful week! I'll be back here tomorrow with a Sweet 'n Sassy card!!
XOXO

Here's an oldie-but-a-goodie (because somehow I didn't get those card photos taken last night!) a layout I did for Unity, a year ago - for their first trip to CHA. (My Mind's Eye papers, CTMH ink)
I know today is Thursday, but since I didn't know if my computer would be here or not, I opted out of Hip Hop for today. . .but be sure to Hip Hop with the rest of the girls, and come chat with us in the Unity forum today!!! Have a GREAT day!!!

I'm BACK, just in time for CPS #100!

Have you been over to the party at the CPS blog!? It's our 100th sketch, and our festivities are leading up to CPS's 2nd anniversary, on Valentine's Day. For this week's sketch, we have THREE sponsors, and they are giving away all sorts of goodies, sharing great promotions, and LOTS of inspiration! Come join in the fun, and link up your card for a chance to WIN!
My card is sponsored by My Favorite Things. . .how sweet is this little bunny?! The stamp set has multiple sentiments that all fit in his little heart. I just love it! I used some new papers from CTMH, and a piece of ribbon I had hanging around.
ANDDDD because I am so happy to be BACK here on my little old blog, with you, I'd like to share some My Favorite Things stamp-love. I have an MFT Valentine stamp set (that I can't seem to find on the website), and the Scented Geranium single stamp that I'll be thrilled to pop in the mail to one of you! Just leave me a comment here and tell me . . .are you making Valentines this year? (Even if it's just making construction paper hearts with your little one - that counts!!) I'll draw a winner on Wednesday night. Thanks so much for coming by! I am looking forward to getting caught up with all of you! XOXOX
