Colorful Halloween Crafting {Journey Gel Press}

Hello friends! I created a really fun Halloween card using some of the cutest Halloween stamps you've ever seen, (Hallows Eve from Fun Stampers Journey) along with the Gel Press. I am really having SO much fun playing with Re-Inkers on the Gel Press. It's easier to clean up than paint, and there are such fun techniques in blending colors and adding some splashes of FSJ Silks

For today's card, I started out with  5 different Re-Inkers (Cosmic Grape, Grape Fusion, Turbo Teal, Electric Lime, and Sour Lemon.) I dotted rows of each color onto the Gel Press, and brayered them into a colorful ombre. Then, I pulled a print on Whip Cream cardstock. This became sort of like a printed paper, that I'll stamp on. Using Black Licorice ink, I stamped the haunted house TWICE, once in the purple area, and once on the green/teal area. I also stamped the bare tree, and the cutie pie witch girl. Then I got fussy cutting. I cut out the house from the purple area, and then trimmed just the windows from the green/teal, and glued them onto the purple house.

Once all the elements of my card were stamped, I created the background. Back to the Gel Press I went, gave it a quick wipe down, and then dotted Turbo Teal Re-Inker, and then brayered it out. Before pulling a print, I splattered the Gel Press with Sparkle Silk. The Silk resists the Re-Inker a little bit, and spreads out - it looks REALLY cool! After pulling the print, I wished it was a little darker, so I repeated that process and added another layer of Turbo Teal onto the cardstock. Then I just layered together all my little elements, and added a strip of Sparkle Tape to ground the house.

What do you think!? My challenge now is to MAIL all the fun Halloween cards I've been making lately! The bright colors and bold shapes of Halloween themed cards really appeal to me...but I hardly ever SEND Halloween cards. I think this is the year to do it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! xoxo
