Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes Card Making Idea

Welcome to Day 2 of the Halloween blog hop at Impression Obsession! We're celebrating all things spooky and sweet from the IO shop. Today's card features a simple stenciled background, and a perfectly plump little pumpkin!
Let's talk about this background first . . .I've used the Retro Ovals stencil a few times now, and each time it's had a completely different look. Gotta love a super versatile product like this! This two-step stencil allows you to make a two-color background without any hassle. Line up your first stencil and ink orange across it. Then, simply line up the second stencil to coordinate (the small ovals) and ink with gray. After that, I lightly rubbed additional orange ink across the panel to create less contrast. The rest of this card is pretty simple. A stamped sentiment, stamped pumpkin, a few gel pen details, plus a heart and some washi tape. Quick and simple, and sweet as can be for fall!

Check Out Cute Pumpkin Card Making Ideas for Fall and Halloween!

Both of today's cards feature the Pumpkin Patch stamp set from Impression Obsession. It features cute individual pumpkins, as well as a row of overlapping pumpkins. To create today's first card, stamp the overlapping pumpkins repeatedly to create a background. Then, add some watercolor to shade in the images. A simple little sentiment finishes this off. Just two stamps to create the colorful pumpkin card!

Next up, try another pumpkin card using the cute patterned pumpkins. Stamp a sentiment onto the center of a die cut shape, and paper piece the pumpkins with shades of orange cardstock. Add some simple details with a white gel pen.

You're the Apple of My Eye {New Dies from Impression Obsession!}

An apple for the teacher . . . the apple of my eye . . . .amazing to the core . . . .There's no shortage of sweet sayings for apple themed cards! Let's look at the adorable Apples die set and coordinating (but also perfect on its own) Apple for the Teacher clear stamp set, new from Impression Obsession. These cards aren't just for teachers - and they're perfect for the upcoming apple season!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
A couple things I love about this die set: there are two sizes of apples. Use them on their own, like the card below, or layer the two sizes together like the card above, to make the sliced view of an apple. (You can even cut the die-cut shape in half to make a quarter slice of an apple! Also: stitched edges. What's cuter than stitched edges? NOTHING. So much love for this. And lastly, bonus points because this die set is so easy to use!
Check out the adorable Ease Into Fall 6x6 paper pack that I used on both of today's cards. There are some prints you'll easily use all year long, plus some fall specific cuties for your extra themed fall cards. (I also used the Citrus Colors paper pack for the apples/leaves on my second card, as well as a scrap of that awesome corrugated cardboard I mentioned yesterday!)

Today is Day 2 of the three-day Impression Obsession designers blog hop, celebrating the August release - we have so much to share with you as we barrel towards the fall season, so be sure to hit all the stops on the hop!

It's Sunflower Season! New Floral Dies from Impression Obsession are HERE!

Late summer means its getting to be sunflower season! Today's cards feature a fantastic floral die set from Impression Obsession - it's easy to use and you'll be adding sweet sunflowers to handmade cards, crafts, and more all season long.

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
Today's first card features some watercolor flowers. To create this idea, start with watercolor paper and splash, splatter, and paint the paper with shades of yellow and orange. After it's dry, die cut the flower petals and layer them together. (Use the same watercolor technique with shades of green for the leaves.) Next, die cut the flower centers from brown cardstock. This die set features a few different pieces that can be layered together or used individually.

Let's take a look at the second card idea for today. It has a more monochromatic flower, with a smiley center (from the new Sprinkles & Confetti stamp set) but it also features . . . .trash. (Wait, what? Yes.) I went trash picking for a fantastic element on this card - a package came in the mail with some great thin corrugated cardboard, and I've been using it on a bunch of cards lately! Corrugated cardboard adds some really fun texture and dimension to crafts, and I love the rough torn edges. (There's a LOT of dimension on this one, so this will probably be a hand-delivered card!)

I Can't Stop With These New Leaf Dies from Impression Obsession!

Can you beLEAF it's day two of Impression Obsession's October release blog hop?! I told you I can't stop with the new Simple Leaves dies, and today I've paired them with the punny clear stamps, called Leaf Sayings, to make a fun fall shaker card!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
When you order a new die set, the pieces often come attached together. They can be easily snipped apart with wire snips or scissors, but sometimes I like to keep them attached together if it's just a few pieces like this set of three fall leaves. It made creating this shaker card simple, because I just left the dies attached, and ran it through the machine one time. For today's card we're using the negative space left over from the leaves as our shaker card openings.

To assemble a shaker card, add a piece of clear acetate behind the openings. Then, surround the open areas with foam tape. (I just created one large area - not a separate shaker for each leaf.) Last, fill the space with sequins and add the back panel of cardstock to sandwich it all together.
Today is day 2 of our two-day blog hop, celebrating the October release at Impression Obsession. If you missed yesterday's cards, head over to check them out HERE!

Three Beautiful Ways To Use Leaf Dies {See What's New from Impression Obsession!}

Every autumn I get really excited about fall leaves. Mind you, I live in Florida, and we don't really GET actual fall leaves around here. But I am always ready to craft with fall leaves - and paper leaves are even better because they don't need to be raked out of the yard! Today's cards feature THREE different ways to use the sweet new Simple Leaves dies from Impression Obsession. So before you LEAF . . .let's take a look!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
The Simple Leaves die set is perfectly sized - not too big, and not too small. Use a couple leaves, or cover the whole card in them!  To create this card, die cut a bunch of leaves, add some simple inking to them, and then attach them to a card base. I popped a couple of them up on foam squares for added dimension around the pretty stamped sentiment.

Here's a TIP: Make simple, flat embellishments with a hole punch and cardstock. I used two sizes of hole punches to make some quick polka dots to scatter on this card.
Next up, same leaves and same sentiment but a totally different look. Using the same basic supplies, it was quick and easy to whip up this card using what was already on my desk. I'm always a fan of making TWO projects with the supplies that are already out. And last but not least. . .how about one more?
For a different spin, after die-cutting the leaves, I ran them through my machine again with an embossing folder. Such a fun way to add texture to the leaves. Add a little inking to really bring out the pattern.

Whether you're creating table decor for Thanksgiving, making handmade cards for the season, or working on some scrapbook layouts, you'll love the Simple Leaves dies! And if you loved today's cards, stay tuned because TOMORROW I have two more leafy fall cards to share! It's all part of the October release at Impression Obsession and we're having a two-day blog hop to celebrate all the new goodness in the IO shop. (This is day one!)

Happy Boo Day! Two Cute Pumpkin Cards for Fall from Impression Obsession

It's Day 2 of Impression Obsession's August release and today's cards are festive for fall and packed with pumpkins! Let's look at two different ways to use this sweet new stamp set drawn by Lindsay Ostrom, called Festive Pumpkins!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
The Festive Pumpkins stamp set is packed with whimsical and creepy-cute pumpkins perfect for Halloween or fall cards. Today's first card could be used for a variety of occasions during the autumn season. I paired the pumpkins with a sentiment from the Holiday Truck stamp set and added highlights with my trusty white gel pen
Next, I went for my favorite Halloween style - spooky and sweet. I colored this cute image with colored pencils, and paired it with some of IO's awesome 6x6 patterned papers. Super simple, and super fun to create!

This week, the Impression Obsession team is celebrating the newest release of stamps and dies with a blog hop and there's lots of spooky-cute cards to enjoy! Today is Day 2 of our two-day hop.

Quirky and Cute Halloween Critters {New From Impression Obsession}

Quirky and cute, with just a hint of spooky (plus a solid dose of bright, fun colors) is my favorite way to create cards and crafts for Halloween. Today I'm excited to share two cute Halloween card making ideas, using the Creepy Kitty stamp set from Impression Obsession.

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you make purchases through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

Both of today's cards feature some of the friends featured in the Creepy Kitty stamp set, like this adorable bat. His little expression is so cute, and I couldn't resist adding some wiggle eyes. I fussy cut the images on today's cards, but Creepy Kitty does has coordinating dies, if you'd rather skip the scissors!

The August release at IO has some new awesome tag dies that I know we'll be using ALL the time. I layered and off-set them for this card as a perfect little background for my batty buddy.

This next card is super festive and fun for a Halloween party or a Halloween birthday. I combined Creepy Kitty with another new stamp set called Monster Birthday. It's fun to combine these balloons with some Halloween personality and the spider and spiderweb fit perfectly.

This week, the Impression Obsession team is celebrating the newest release of stamps and dies with a blog hop and there's lots of spooky-cute cards to enjoy! Today is Day 1 of our two-day hop.
