It seems that I always need a birthday card, and I love ideas that I can use to mass produce to build up my stash. These cards would also make an adorable gift set. The Dot Background stamp from Impression Obsession is perfect for cards like this because it's bold dotted pattern makes a big statement without any other fuss or work. This stamp is 3.5x4.25, which is a really fun size for backgrounds.
The next best thing is that you can customize your colors and sentiments for your needs. Make them in all kinds of colors, and then you'll have just the perfect card for your friend who's favorite color is purple. . .or green. . . or blue. . . or red!
To make this card extra colorful I used an ombre ink pad to pack a bunch of color onto the stamp. You could use any type of rainbow ink pad, or you could even color the stamp using markers or paint before stamping on cardstock. I used the FSJ Create-a-Palette ink pad, which allows me to load each section of the ink pad with different colors of liquid ink. It's so much fun to create different combinations of colors. I used three different Create-a-Palettes for these cards, and then simply added some fun birthday sentiments to finish off the cards. I love how much ink this stamp holds, so you really see the full effect from a rainbow ink pad. Even stamped in a solid color, this card is just fabulous for handmade cards.
Today's blog post is part of Old is New Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate the oldies-but-goodies in our stamp stash. Today was extra fun because although this stamp has been around for a while, it is brand new to ME so it was a blast to play with, and I just know I'll be using it a lot more! (If you know me, I'm a sucker for anything with polka dots anyway!)
