The Dancin' Gnome die set is part of Spellbinders' holiday release, and the set also includes an adorable Christmas tree to layer together. For today's cards I focused just on the gnome - and I wanted to see what else I could create besides Christmas and winter cards.
I started with a fall gnome card. I had fun picking out some Halloween colors to die cut and assemble this guy in. This die set includes that cute tree stump that the gnome is standing on, and I added the pumpkins from the Open House Pumpkin Topiary Die Set. Think about the dies you have in your stash that will play nicely with this set to add versatility.
You may wonder why this gnome is called the Dancin' Gnome. Well, it's because he dances! No, really! This super cool die set assembles together so that the legs swing freely under the body so he wiggles. It's such a whimsical little detail.
To create the starry background, run black cardstock through your die cutting machine with the Stargazer embossing folder. Then, gently sponge Distress Oxide ink over the surface to pick up the texture.
The next card idea is a more traditional Christmas card. This card began with a snowy oval background, from the Rejoice Nativity die set, cut from light blue cardstock, with blue Distress Ink blended on top. Then I assembled my Christmas gnome in red, white, and aqua. (One of my favorite color combos!)
Lastly, (at least for today!) I created a Valentine gnome. Don't you LOVE him!? Changing the colors and accessories with the gnome allows you to customize him for any time of year! I love holiday supplies that can be used all year long!I'm so glad you stopped by today! Are you ready to add gnomes to your holiday - and all year round - crafting?
