Today's cards would obviously be appropriate for Mother's Day, but there are lots of ways to use this adorable MOM die set for cards at any time of year. Take this first card for example - this might be a thank you card after Mom watched your kids for the weekend, or did your laundry while you were at home. Or change up that sentiment strip to say Happy Birthday, and you have an awesome personalized birthday card for Mom. BUT, it would also be perfect for a Mother's Day card too!
For the first card today, I used one of my favorite floral stamp sets to add some simple black and white stamped flowers. Then, I added the die cut MOM and sentiment strip on top. I love that this die cuts out the thin outline as well as the letters - use both pieces, or just one. And as you might have noticed, I die cut the word twice, once from pink and once from black, and used the reverse for my second card. Speaking of my second card. . .
Same idea, with a floral background behind the letters, but this time I die cut the flowers - but again, notice how I mixed and matched. A couple quick passes with a patterned paper and a cardstock, and I was able to create lots of coordinating flowers easily. And that black outline around MOM helps the sentiment to stand out and not get lost with all the busy flowers.Whether you're a mom, celebrating a mom, missing a mom, want to be a mom, or maybe all of the above - I hope you have a beautiful day today! I'm so glad you stopped by! xoxo

I love using the Magic Mat from scrapbook.com with my die cutting machine, because it alleviates those pesky cutting lines on the underneath side of die cut shapes. You know, the ones from your best used cutting plates?
