Hello There {CAS-ual Fridays CFC109 and a peek in my brain}

I don't particpate in CAS-ual Fridays challenges nearly as often as I should. Every time I stop by the blog I am completely inspired and excited! And this week, I've been in a major crafting funk. (Let's be honest. . .it's probably been more like a month.)  So in the middle of a bunch of deadlines, I decided to just stop, drop everything, and make a quick CAS-ual Fridays challenge card. This week, the challenge is to use polka-dots. (How could I resist?!)

I used washi tape from Close To My Heart, and Studio G, and that cute sentiment stamp is from Elle's Studio.  (Part of the Saltwater collection.)  It's super cute - I think I'll be grabbing that stamp a lot!
I added a few black pearls to the card, and called it done.
I really only spent about 10 minutes on this, and I enjoyed  each of those 10 minutes.  I'll be honest, it's easy to impart stress on myself, working on projects specifically for Paper Crafts. I get all worked up and try too hard to make each card the most perfect card I've ever created. And is that possible? No. (DUH!) I do much better when I just sit down and CREATE, and then hope that it fits what i "should" be doing. I think I will be doing a lot of growing during my time with Paper Crafts, and I am excited about that. Creating and crafting is a lot more of a mental thing than one would think. Anyone else have that problem? When I'm in a funk, if I can just make one thing that I REALLY like, then often it's enough to jolt myself out of the funk. {Not always, but sometimes!}

So there you have it. You've gotten a peek at a card, and a peek into my crazy brain. Lucky you!
Thanks so much for coming by today! And thanks to CAS-ual Fridays for jolting me out of a funk, to have some polka-dotty fun. {Cause seriously, there could never be enough polka dots in the world!}

inspired by my blog (CFC72)

I decided to take some time this week and do some cards for no particular reason, other than for the FUN of it. (Rather than for assignments, or "work" .  . . although sometimes assignments and work can be FUN too!)
I thought I'd hop in and do this week's challenge at Cas-ual Fridays.  It's a really fun one and sounded super simple to me! The challenge is:
CFC72:  Create a project inspired by your blog header
We can't wait to check out your blogs!
Be sure to share the love, and visit your neighbors in the gallery this week :)

I LOVE my blog banner.  It's very. . .ME. Clean and simple, cheery and bright.  All the things I love! It's not too hard to see how I was inspired, because I pretty much just duplicated my banner right there on the card.  I used my sweet friend, Tami Mayberry's stamp set, Perfect Pennants, from Gina K Designs

If you'd like to join in on this week's challenge, head over to the Cas-ual Fridays blog and check it out!
Have a great day!!

CFC25 - Just Add Color (baby twin girls card!)

My neighbors just had twin baby girls a few weeks ago.  I reached right for the PERFECT stamp set, one of Kim Hughes sets, from way back in the days of Cornish Heritage Farms.  (Kim's stamps from CHF are some of the VERY FEW discontinued stamps that I keep have in my stash!)

I have never used the "twins" stamp, and I was super excited to finally have a reason to use it! (The photo below is the inside of the card.)

Thankfully this was a card with a PURPOSE and it immediately LEFT my house :)  because I have GOT to purge my gigantic collection of cards - since they didn't sell at this weekend's craft fair (see previous post for my sob session) I have GOT to figure out what to do with them all.

I am also entering this card into the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, for this week's challenge, CFC25, "Just add color".  I used colored pencils to add color to my little baby girls! I was so excited to see that I was recognized as a VIP for last week's challenge (CFC24) - SO FUN!!! I have the super-cool badge in my sidebar now!  (Thanks CAS-ual Fridays!!!)

Thanks for coming by! Sorry about my double-posting day! Just gotta do that every so often!

BOO!! (TSOL, The Twinery, and Cas-ual Fridays)

I decided to MAKE the time to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays blog this week.  If it's new to you, the premise of CAS-ual Fridays is clean and SIMPLE.  (Hmm, did you know I really REALLY dig CLEAN and SIMPLE?!)  So why I haven't MADE the time to participate a long time ago, I don't know.
This week's challenge is to create a Halloween card without a SINGLE SPECK of orange.
Fun, fun, fun!
So here, my friends, is my orange-less Halloween card.  I used stamps from The {Stamps} of Life, and twine from The Twinery.  The card stock is from Discount Cardstock (Brilliant White, and Soot) and the teal gems on my ghostie's hat are from Want2Scrap.
It is rainy and dreary here today (which I love in and of itself!) but I love it EXTRA today, because coming behind this weather is a few COOL WEATHER DAYS!!!! I even saw a 49 for the low one night!!!! (And in October in Florida, THAT my friends, is unusual!)  We are DEFINITELY going to the park after school tomorrow.  And hopefully the cool weather will make everyone want to spend lots of money at this weekend's craft fair!!!!
