Happy New Year!

It seems that I don't make New Years card - like, EVER. This is probably because I am still in a post-Christmas coma. Or perhaps because we generally spend the week between Christmas and New Years out of town.

At any rate, I managed to dig this one out of the "archives" for you today. It features My Favorite Things stamps, and some lovely fluffy Flower Soft. (Poppy Red perhaps?) I colored this lovely girl in colored pencils, and added a little bling, because EVERY New Years card needs some bling! I believe this card was posted on the Card Positioning Systems blog many moons ago.
I promise I'll be back in the coming days with NEW cards - like some fabulous new goodness from The  Stamps of Life!!! (It's an awfully cute set this month! Giggle giggle!)

Hoping we'll all enjoy another fabulous year together! Happy 2013, my friends!

Brrrrr. . .

it's sweltering here. august is SO hot in Florida!
seriously.
hot.
but this card makes me feel cool and crisp, and ready for WINTER.  (well, really i'm just ready for fall!)
i used brand-spankin'-new stamps from Unity Stamp Company, and fabulous Polar White Flowersoft, provided to the CPS girls for last week's sponsorship. i also used the beautiful twine from The Twinery.  (Did you know they are having an anniversary celebration!!??? check out their blog for LOTS of fun giveaways!)

We are in the final week of summer vacation here. . .so I better get back to it, before the kids climb the walls or jump off the furniture (again!) Have a TERRIFIC week!!!

what the heck . . .a little more cake

More cake.  I just couldn't help myself!!!  This delicious little yellow cake is covered in Lemon Flower Soft.  And pearls.  Yummm. (Well, maybe not truly delicious, but fairly adorable at least!)

I am feeling blog anxiety once again.  Trying to find some balance in my life (again), and figure out what I should spend my time on, and what I should let go of.  I can't totally let go of my blog, because I have responsibilities and commitments to post certain projects regularly.  But I am letting go of the anxiety of not posting as often as I would like.  And I am letting go of the expectations and hopes that my blog would become something that it just isn't.

So that's that.  I'll probably be here once a week or so.  And then again, maybe more.  Who knows.  All I'm saying is that I am letting go of feeling guilty when it's been a week without a post.

So go eat some cake, and stop stressing out.  That's what I'd like to do.  :)
Tomorrow I am making a birthday cake for a special friend of our family.  I'm not sure yet WHAT exactly it's going to be. . .chocolate.  But what pan to use, and what exactly to create. . . .I am not yet sure! I'll letcha know if it turns out fabulous!!! :)

thinking of you. . .

Remember, earlier in the week, I told you I was relaxing at home, with a sick child? I had embraced our Sick Days, letting Mr. B watch as much tv as he wanted, completely guilt free - and I was getting lots done! Well. . ..we probably all know where this story goes. . . . .I got sick. Of course I did. We all knew it would happen, I suppose. Right about the time that Bryce started recovering, I hit rock bottom.

I think today I am slowly going to rejoin the living! It's amazing how many dishes accumulate and how messy things can get over the course of two days.

Before I try to tackle all that though, I thought I'd pop in and share a card. This is my CPS card for the week, for sketch #200, sponsored by Flower Soft. I used the new Peony Pink Flower Soft, along with stamps from Papertrey Ink, and paper and pearls from my January Discount Cardstock kit.

And now, Mr. B is begging me to read him a book about coral reefs. And Tanner is trying to climb on the coffee table. So I better go! Have a great weekend! We're looking forward to a long weekend, no school and work on Monday! (I am thankful for an extra day with Daddy at home to help me get things back in shape around here!)

XOXO

Monstrously Super! :)

This Sassafras Lass monster, from the Monstrosity collection, was begging for some green fuzzy Flower Soft! Isn't he cute and furry???? ;) This card is for this week's CPS sketch (and Flower Soft is our sponsor!) I was a little stumped by this sketch at first. . .but I like how this card turned out! I think it will be perfect for some little guy's (or a big guy's) birthday card.

I can't believe tomorrow morning is MONDAY already!!! My parents are here for a quick visit, and I am looking forward to a day of hanging out with them! I hope your Monday is fabulous. I'll be back in a day or two with something new to share, and at the start of the new month - LOTS to share! I've been BUSY!!!

XOXO

happy thoughts

I'm sending myself happy thoughts today as I head into a slightly CRAZY week! Someplace to go every morning this week. . .yikes!

This card is for this week's CPS sketch, number 183, sponsored by Flower Soft. Flower Soft has been so very generous with us, and I have added all sorts of beautiful colors of Flower Soft to my stash! I paired the Flower Soft with some stamps from Unity Stamp Co. To really give LOTS of depth to my tree, I applied the Flower Soft, let it dry, and then I added another blob of glue on top of each circle, and added MORE Flower Soft! The tree looks really puffy in person - I love it!
Have a SUPER week!!! I am off to pack a lunch and get the second week of school on it's merry way!

bee-lieve

Flower Soft was kind enough to share lots of goodies with the CPS designers, for this week's sketch sponsorship. I am still a newbie when it comes to Flower Soft, but it is pretty fun stuff! It is a bit easier and less messy to use than glitter. . .I am not so much the fan of working with glitter! And the Flower Soft adds just a bit of fun texture to cards and projects. On this card, I added black Flower Soft to the black areas of my sweet little bumblebee.

Thanks for the comments on my last blog post. . .although you know what this proves? There are exactly 7 comments, and isn't it ironic how I told you I knew that there were SEVEN of you reading this blog????? ;) tee hee! I know there are more than that. . .probably 10 or 12. LOL! If you left me a comment, I am working to get around to each of YOU to leave a comment for YOU, you sweetie pies!

Made these granola bars today. . . it was supposed to be a project for me and Mr. B. but it ended up being just MY project. I must say, they turned out pretty yummy! I used a little less sugar, and less butter, and added walnuts instead of almonds. Definitely worth a try if you like granola bars!
