Big Thanks: Make a Simple Thank You Card With Watercolor Stripes

It's always a good time to whip up some thank you cards to have on hand, and this simple idea is perfect for mass-producing a stack of colorful cards in any color of the rainbow!

This is such a simple and fun thank you card, and you can customize it for any color scheme. Ink up the Watercolor Lines rubber stamp with a variety of colors, and then stamp to create a beautiful striped background. Then add a simple die cut Big Thanks sentiment for a striking and easy card to duplicate for all the people you want to say THANK YOU to! Visit my blog for more clean and simple cardmaking ideas like this.
Today's card starts out with the striped background. But don't worry - it's easy to create these stripes using the Watercolor Lines background stamp from Impression Obsession. To create this look, draw lines of re-inker or liquid ink onto a nonporous surface. (I used water soluble liquid dye ink.) If you're using something water-soluble, like dye ink, spritz with water, to help the colors blend. (This will still look great if you use hybrid or pigment ink, just don't mix with water!)

Press stamp into the "ink pad" you created and the stamp will pick up all the gorgeous colors you used. I stuck with three colors on this card - be sure to choose colors that will blend nicely into each other.
Big Thanks! Looking for a simple thank you card idea? Using one large background stamp with multiple ink colors is a simple way to add striking pattern and color to the background of a card. Then, simply die cut a Big Thanks sentiment and add it to the card. This is a great card idea to duplicate and make in batches for gifts, or to thank all the people you appreciate!
Today's blog post is part of Die Cut Obsession Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate the awesome dies in our crafty stash - so let's talk about today's die. The Big Thanks die is a fun bold die to add to a card. It cuts beautifully, and it's easy to work with. I added the sentiment to a die cut rectangle to make it pop. Paired with the bold stripes, this card is DONE.

If you want to make a whole batch of these cards, I suggest cutting out all the sentiments (and background rectangles) at one time. Cutting the sentiment from black cardstock will help it to match with any color combinations you choose. Then, have some fun with liquid inks and color combos to make those bold faux watercolor stripes.
Big Thanks! Looking for a simple thank you card idea? An easy die cut sentiment plus a gorgeous background stamp are easy ways to pull together a striking and bold card. Customize with any colors, and duplicate for gifts or to add to your handmade card stash.
