Encore! Retired FSJ Stamps and Dies Back in Stock!

You guys. THIS is so fun. Fun Stampers Journey brought back some old favorite stamps and die sets for an encore. Let's take a walk down memory lane, as I revisit some of my favorite products that are BACK in the FSJ shop! And then check out the full list of encore products at Fun Stampers Journey.

(Products linked in this post contains compensated affiliate links. When you shop through my links there is no additional cost to you. Thank you for shopping with my links!)

YAY Stamp and Die Set

The YAY stamp and die set has been one of my very favorite products. I've used it over and over again, long after it retired. It was one of the sets that I absolutely squealed YESSS over when I first saw the list of goodies coming back to us! Click on over to see the details for making fun and easy birthday cards, using the YAY stamp and die set.

Pinch Love and Sandy Toes

That lobster from the Pinch Love stamp is just such a cool image. It pairs perfectly with the sentiment from Sandy Toes (another super fun summer stamp set!) This was a fun layout to make of my boys at the beach. Click here to check out the details about this summer scrapbook page.

Snappy Birthday

Another of my favorite summer stamp sets! Snappy Birthday! The crab has the same fun style as the lobster. Lots of little designs and details on the crabs in this stamp set! On this crab I used a few different colors of ink, and added a lot of fun layers to this card. Head over to see the details about this fun layered Snappy Birthday card.

Magical Journey Prints

Oh man, if you missed the Magical Journey collection the first time around, you are going to LOVE it. I used a combination of stamps on this page, some of which have come back for an encore, but it's the Magical Journey printed paper that really brings this page together. Obviously this collection is PERFECTION for Disney themed crafts, but it's so great for any type of celebration card or craft! (And yes, I might have dressed my child purposely so he would match Disney scrapbook pages.) Stop by this blog post to see more pictures and details about this scrapbook layout!

Summer Fun

Oh man, I LOVE this card. I'll be honest, it still sits on the shelf above my workspace. Pink pineapples? Yes please. The Summer Fun Stamp set is one I'm definitely excited to play with again! (Want to see more pictures and details about the Oh Happy Day pink pineapple card?)

Fun Filled Prints and Summer Fun

Ahhh, another pineapple from Summer Fun. This set pairs so well with the Fun Filled 6x6 paper pack. Man, I just love this stuff. Bright colors, pineapples and flamingos!? YES PLEASE. This sentiment was from another set that I don't believe is on the Encore list, but that pineapple y'all.... ) Check out the scoop on this Summer Is Here handmade card idea

Thanks for cruising down my crafty memory lane! This ended up being a very bright and summery walk - but bright colors are always my jam! There are a TON of other products on the Encore list, and I'm pretty sure you'll find something you can't live without! Remember these products are all available while supplies last, so don't hold off if there's something you love! You can find all of the Encore products here on the Spellbinders + FSJ website!

Three Quick and Sneaky 12x12 Scrapbooking Tricks

Colorful Journey scrapbook page by laura williams featuring fun stampers journey color pop, and flower tangle stamp sets | three sneaky scrapbooking tips using stamps and dies #lauralooloo #funstampersjourney #scrapbooking
This past January I had the EXTREME joy and privilege to have one of my bestest pal's baby girl stay with us for ten days. Her mama had an opportunity of a lifetime, and she wasn't going to go except I pretty much stole her baby and forced her to. (Well, not exactly...but I would have if she hadn't taken me up on my offer to chill with my little baby pal.) She is actually and truly the best baby ever. She slept like a champ, and she did SO SO good with us. The best part? My girlfriend sent her with all her cute dresses and adorable shoes, so I got to play baby-dress-up every day. (Something I haven't gotten to do with my own two boys!!!)

I used some fab new Fun Stampers Journey goodies for this layout. Lots of goodness from the Colorful Journey collection, as well as some border dies, and other little pretties. I'll point out a few quick tricks and ideas along the way, and then I'll leave you to your weekend. (I'm actually on vacation as you read this...and as I type this, I'm trying to get out the door - so I'll keep it short and sweet!)

First tip/trick - our new Border Essentials Dies  - they aren't 12 inches long but by pairing two pieces together, tucked behind my circles, it gives the illusion of being 12 inches! YAY! I'm so sneaky!

Next tip/trick - that gorgeous flowered background that I stamped on the pink cardstock? It's not that big either! IT looks like a piece of printed paper, doesn't it?! Nope, just stamp four images side by side. There was a little bit of a seam showing where they met, but my photos completely disguised it! YAY! Sneaky again!

Last tip/trick for today - it's tough to see on my photos, but I stamped the Grid Paper background stamp onto my journaling piece, using Pool Play ink. And guess what? That gave me lines to write on, so I didn't have to worry about my journaling being crooked! Triple YAY!!!

Okay you guys, seriously I have got to RUN. Vacation calls. I hope you've had THE best time celebrating the Fun Stampers Journey catalog launch for the past two weeks with us! It has been a BLAST. But don't be a stranger - there's always fun up our sleeve, and crafty goodness to share across all of our social media channels! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy crafting! xoxo

Make a Patriotic Scrapbook Layout Three Ways!

Are you a scrapbooker? What's your format? Are you a pocket page girl? An 8.5x11 album maker? Or do you pull out the BIG sheets and you go 12x12 all the way? There are so many options, and we all tend to have our preferences. Today, I'd like to share ONE basic scrapbook layout with you - but created three different ways. Maybe you'll even be inspired to try a new shape or size you've never done before!
create a pocket page, an 8.5x11 page, and a 12x12 page with the same layout. Fun Stampers Journey rubber stamps and dies are the perfect tools for create patriotic scrapbook layouts for 4th of July memory keeping. #funstampersjourney #lauralooloo #scrapbooking
Pocket Page
First up, a pocket page. Fun Stampers Journey has DARLING 6x8 albums and pocket pages that are co-branded with Simple Stories. I tend to print my photos 2x3, because they feel less overwhelming to me, and take up less space - so I popped those photos into the 4-pocket page and then I had two extra pockets to fill with goodies. Embellishing a pocket page is kind of like creating small handmade cards, that all coordinate with each other. I love the way this page turned out!

8.5x11 layout
Next up - here's one for you 8.5x11 scrapbookers. I simply took my four pockets of goodness, and transferred them to an 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock. I did mat them on white, before the full sheet of blue, but how EASY is that!? The simple grid format can be applied to any size layout. I did add an extra red star and some sparkle tape to the bottom right corner to finish it off.

12x12 Layout
And now, last but certainly not least - let's go BIG. For this 12x12 layout, I took my whole 8.5x11 layout and put it onto a 12x12 piece of white cardstock. I added some stamped fireworks to the background,  a strip of striped printed paper plus two more stars. (Love that visual triangle with the three red stars.)

Sometimes when we look at scrapbook layouts in magazines or online, we look for ideas that fit exactly the shape or size we need. When you see scrapbooking inspiration you love, make it work for you even if it isn't exactly what you think you need! And hey - maybe live on the wild side and try a new shape or size of layouts you've never done before! So tell me, which is YOUR favorite style? Is there something you're afraid to try? Do you create in all the sizes?!

Scrapbooking: Christmas Morning Pocket Pages {Fun Stampers Journey}

Happy Monday! I did a little Christmas scrapbooking to share with you today, using my 6x8 album. I mixed and matched the pocket pages, and I had fun playing around with the different sizes and options. FSJ's pocket pages have so many creative options - you can do something super simple, or fabulously complex, whatever your style may be!
For this spread, the page on the left may look like it's all one page, but from the red border in, that's actually one of the cute 4x6 Layer Pocket Pages, with a 6x8 page peeking out behind it (with the pine tree printed paper) I loved the idea of adding in one mini page with a photo all on its own. The 6x8 pages come in all sorts of assortments - the right hand page (from Memory Pocket Pages) contains a 4x6 pocket at the bottom, with two 4x3 pockets on top.
I loved adding a few little jingle bells to this page. I threaded them onto a piece of twine, tied a knot, and then tied it onto the end of the Merry Xmas clip. Super festive and fun! I might just fill this whole book up with Christmas pictures and pull it out with our holiday decor each year! (Oooh, and the album will definitely need a big red bow around the cover, don't you think???!!!)
FSJ's 6x8 albums and pages are made by Webster's Pages, and they are absolutely gorgeous, and great quality! You can find all them all on the FSJ website, and as part of the 12 Days of Deals,  for today ONLY, they are all 30% off! WHAAAT!??? Check it out and score some deals!

Hello Love scrapbook layout {watercolor stamping}

Stamping with watercolor...it's a little messy, but so worth it! For today's layout, I used the brand new Hello Love stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey. I'm a little partial to this stamp set, because I drew the sentiments in it! Paired with some super cool images created by the graphic designers at Fun Stampers Journey, this stamp and die set is definitely one of my favorites in the new 2017 catalog.
To create this, I started out with a sheet of Whip Cream cardstock. I gave it a few little spritzes of water, and then I stamped the circle stamp onto an acrylic block that I dripped some Limeade Splash Liquid Color onto. Liquid Colors are the new dye inks from FSJ. They come in a bottle, similar to a reinker, but you can use them for watercolor techniques, and so much more. So I tapped my stamp right onto the Liquid Color, and then onto the cardstock. Wherever the cardstock was especially wet, the color ran and blended and did super cool things! It's pretty fun, yes? And the areas that were dry, the image stamped more clearly. I love the way it turned out.

After that, I layered up some dies, papers, a few more stamped details and of course the photo of my cutie pie baby-who's-not-a-baby-anymore. The hardest part of this layout is looking at that chubby baby who keeps growing up. (That, and waiting for my wet watercolor to dry so I could finish working!)

Don't be afraid to PLAY with messy watercolor techniques like this. They won't always work the first time. I played a little to figure out what the ink and water would do, and sometimes - things just look awful. That's okay! Try, try again! Sometimes the process is more valuable than the product, and there's nothing wrong with that! It's ART! Have FUN! xoxo

Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses {summer scrapbooking layout}

 I have a little more summer scrapbooking inspiration to share with you today! I'm just LOVING all the cute (can you say CUTE about a lobster?) sea animals in the Spring Into Summer Mini Catalog from FSJ.

To create this layout, I stamped the Catching Waves background stamp twice to fill an eight inch tall panel of Cool Pool cardstock. That background stamp is CA-UTTTE. It's so bubbly and fun! Then I added some tone-on-tone stamping of the sea sentiments on the Huckleberry Fusion base. It just adds a little interest, without adding a big busy distraction from my sandy little boys! I layered up some printed paper, corrugated stock, twine, sparkle tape, and stamped elements to create some fun texture. I'm all about layering on the goodness to my layouts lately!

You're Turtley Awesome {summertime scrapbook layout}

I live in Florida, therefore I can do summer themed scrapbook layouts with photos that were taken at Christmastime! This photo was my littlest man while we were hanging out in swimsuits in December. It's what we do! (Try not to be jealous, if you live up north!)

This photo was perfect with FSJ's Spring Into Summer Mini Catalog stamps, like these Turtley Awesome turtles. I LOVE them. They are fun to add color to, and I did a lot of layering on these guys. After stamping them, I dipped them in some blue and green watercolor. While wet, I splattered them with Silk. When it was all dry, I decided the color had dried a little paler than I wanted, so I inked up the Ink Splat stamp, with Catalina Splash ink and I stamped a few little splats onto the turtles. (Then I did the same, with Green Olive ink too!) So these turtles have been stamped, watercolored, and splattered!
 I did a good bit of layering on this layout, with Under the Sea printed paper, vellum, sparkle tape, and stamping. I inked up the Ink Splat stamp with a little more Catalina Splash ink to tie in on the background and then I added some sea grass, fish, and bubbles. (I went over the bubbles with some Journey Glaze to add shine and dimension! I love all the texture and dimension that came together on this layout, and my boy's smiling face really IS turtley awesome!

Supply list is down below! If you have any questions, leave them in the comments! I'll be back with another summer layout in a few days! Yay! Happy Summer my friends, and thanks for stopping by!

Magical Journey layout {Disney World Scrapbooking}

Living in Florida, I have been spoiled by fairly regular trips to Disney World ever since I was a child. My parents were known to pick me up from school with suitcases packed and say "SURPRISE! We're going to Disney World!" My husband and I even honeymooned at Disney World, and for a few years after we were married, we only lived 15 minutes away - so we spent a lot of afternoons walking around Epcot and enjoyed being a local!

Bringing our kids to Disney has been so special, because we have TONS of memories there! And there are a LOT of photos to prove it. I loved using FSJ's Magical Journey collection to create a layout of my oldest son (he's much older now - SOB), with his first pair of Mickey ears. LOVE!
I did a lot of layering on this page, but I kept a good bit of white space to balance it out. Plus it keeps the focus on the photo. I will admit, I have been known to dress my family in particular colors, just so that the photos would match my scrapbook pages! This would be one of those occasions! The stripes on his shirt are perfect with the colors and patterns on the page.

 I did some stamping and stamping off (inking the star stamp, and then stamping once on scrap paper before stamping on the layout) to add some shades and dimension. Plus it helps the stars to not be too overwhelming. The die cuts and embellishments all came together so seamlessly, thanks to the awesome products in this collection!

That super fun castle is a stamp, and coordinating die. So I stamped that on white cardstock, and die cut it. The magic wand is a sticker, and then I added a diecut circle with the stamped sentiment.

Although much of the Magical Journey products have retired, Fun Stampers Journey brought back a few returning favorites for an encore! YAY!

Here are some of the goodies used on today's layout:

How To Use Planner Pages on Scrapbook Layouts

     Hello friends! Today I'd like to share a 8.5x11 layout that I created. I don't do a ton of scrapbooking - mainly I just shove everything in photo sleeves once every 18 months or so, after a weekend long Shutterfly binge, uploading everything under the sun.  But every so often it's fun to create a layout to stick in between the photo sleeves.

For today's layout, I thought it would be fun to use some of my unused planner pages from my 2016 planner. It's a great way to score some free lined paper for journaling, and it's got a bit of personality and detail on it that's fun to add on a layout. Before you ditch all your unused planner bits at the end of the year, dig through and see what's usable for another purpose!

On this project I used lots of NEW goodies from Fun Stampers Journey, out of the Trends Mini Catalog. (You can find the whole sweet catty here!) I used a bit of our new planner stamps and dies, plus some paper and accessories from the Magical Journey collection. (That's the one with the fun Disney-ish theme!) Really, the only Christmas things I used are the sentiment stamp,  one little strip of Christmas paper, and the holly die.

I really love the new Tape It stamp set, that I used to create a lot of the washi tape on the page. The top right corner is all just stamped on cardstock. It was fun to mix sparkle tape, washi tape, plus stamped faux tapes all together on this page.

Thanks so much for coming by and checking out my planner-to-layout page! Be sure to head over to the Fun Stampers Journey website to check out all the new planner goodies we have! Plus, if you don't have your 2017 planner yet - check out the Journey Days Buffet promotion. You can score a whole bundle of planner goodies for the new year for a low price! Did you know that our planners are cobranded with Webster's Pages? (They're kinda awesome, and they make GORGEOUS planners!)

Happy NSD! You & Me Sunshine Layout {Fun Stampers Journey}

Hello sunshines! I made a layout. Whaaaaat!? It doesn't happen often, but I am so smitten with this you & me die from the Spring Into Summer mini catalog at Fun Stampers Journey, and I was inspired to make a layout with it. And what perfect timing....perhaps my heart just knew that today is National Scrapbooking Day, so I was getting a head start!

The wooden elements from the Summer catalog are SO much fun - the scripty words are gorgeous, and those hearts!? LOVE! And the palm tree!? LOVE! Hearts and palm trees together!? DOUBLE LOVE from this Florida girl. That strip of heart printed paper is about to retire - it's the Journey Basics Black & White paper pack. It's one of my favorites - I'll be sad to see it go!(Grab it now while it's 40% off!)

To finish off the page, I added some simple journaling and a splash of Journey Gold Silk. I love splatters! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your Spring is feeling sunshiny and grand, and your National Scrapbooking Day is filled with....scrapbooking! (If you're looking for some online activities, check out Richard Garay's blog for the scoop on some fun hops going on!)

Ohhhh Dee-Deee!!!

Congratulations Dee Dee! You are the winner of the MFT stamps from my stash! :) Send me your address and I will mail them out!!!
Here's an oldie-but-a-goodie (because somehow I didn't get those card photos taken last night!) a layout I did for Unity, a year ago - for their first trip to CHA. (My Mind's Eye papers, CTMH ink)
I know today is Thursday, but since I didn't know if my computer would be here or not, I opted out of Hip Hop for today. . .but be sure to Hip Hop with the rest of the girls, and come chat with us in the Unity forum today!!! Have a GREAT day!!!
