Sweet As Honey! These Stamps are BEE-Utiful! {New from Impression Obsession}

Hey honey! Just wanted to buzzz by to share the Sweet As Honey stamp set from Impression Obsession. It's part of the latest release at IO and we're celebrating with a blog hop to share all the new sweets. Plus, I have a simple stencil layering idea that you can try TODAY using stencils in your stash.

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you purchase through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
The Sweet as Honey stamp set is the cornerstone of some new products that work perfectly together. The stamp set has a variety of SWEET little images including bees, honey, honeycomb and sentiments for a variety of cards. You'll love pairing it with the Honeycomb stencil, as well as the brand new coordinating 6x6 paper pack. (I didn't have the paper yet when I created these cards, but the Yellows Basics 6x6 pad is a another perfect pairing with this set!)

So let's talk about stencil layering. This is the technique I used to add the circle-shaped honeycomb pattern on the card above.

Try this stencil layering technique:
  • Choose a patterned stencil (like today's honeycomb)
  • Choose one of the following: either a stencil with a large open shape (like the new circle stencil I used) or die cut a large shape from cardstock and use the negative piece as a homemade stencil.
  • Layer one stencil on top of the other and ink over them together onto your card. (Use washi tape to help your layers stay in place if desired)
The stenciled circle shape creates a simple focal point and fun landing spot for the stamped and die cut elements to settle.  Speaking of landing spots. . . .did you catch the adorable new scalloped circle die I used on my second card? This set includes three scalloped circles that you'll use again and again, and their smaller size is perfect for sentiments and tags. (Or as a landing spot for bees and honey!)
Remember, we're celebrating this SWEET release with a two-day blog hop (this is day one!) I know you'll enjoy what the other designers are sharing this week!

Cheerful Spring Flower Card Ideas {Impression Obsession Theme Day}

Looking for some cheerful thank you card ideas, using simple die cut flowers? Today's blog post features three sweet floral card ideas to say THANKS! It's Theme Day on the Impression Obsession blog and we're celebrating all things spring flowers!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you purchase through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
All of today's cards began in the way that many of my projects begin. . . I pick some colors, and then die-cut a bunch of goodies to start with. Then, I see what I can create with those. Today I ended up with three similar cards which all coordinate nicely - this is perfect for the start of a gift set of cards, as I generally like to create cards that match somewhat, when creating a gift.

This floral die set is called Mother's Day Flowers, but as you can see, you aren't limited to Mother's Day for these cute daisies! The bloom, center, and leaves are all separate dies so it's really fun to mix and match the colors.

Hey Chick! Check Out These Cuties for Easter and Springtime Cards {Impression Obsession}

Hey chickies! It is Easter week and there's much to celebrate. Today's cards, although absolutely perfect for Easter, are equally perfect all springtime long. They're perfect for baby cards....and perfect for your besties, and perfect for your chicken-loving friends. What could be cuter than a little chick and bright springtime colors? Oh - and the BEST part. . . Impression Obsession is having a sale you gotta PEEP to believe. The deals are HOPPIN'! (See what I did there?) ;)

Today is Team Favorites Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate one more peek at our favorites from this month's release.

I've really had fun with this adorable stamp set. That card up top came together quickly with the sweet Shaker Tag die - on that card I used the die set just as a simple tag, no shaker necessary for that cuteness!

And below, I used another new favorite product - the A4 Window Stencils. This card was fun to make. I did some stamping, and masking and then inked the window stencil to give these chicks a place to land.
Okay my crafty PEEPS, I don't want to keep you because there's so much to do!

Hey Chick! How About This Springtime Card With a Shaker Tag?

Today's cards feature fresh flowers and adorable chicks, popping up just in time for springtime.  It's Day 2 of Impression Obsession's new release hop, and spring is definitely in the air! Plus, if you loved yesterday's shaker tag card, today I've got another shaker idea with sweet pastel sequins. Ready to chick it out?

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

Today's cards show two different ways to color these cute chickies. Love to paper-piece? This chick looks great trimmed from cardstock. Feel like coloring? Try watercolor, pencils, or markers to bring your chickies some color.
In yesterday's post I shared directions for assembling the Shaker Tag die as a shaker. (You can totally use the pieces as regular tags too!)
  • To make this shaker, cut the solid tag from pink cardstock, and acetate.
  • Then cut the window tag from white cardstock, and from white foam. (Or you can use thin strips of adhesive foam tape instead of a foam sheet.)
  • Assemble the tag from front to back - white window tag, acetate layer, then foam. Next, fill the open space with sequins, and seal it together with the solid white tag.
It's Day 2 of our blog hop and we're having so much fun sharing this month's new release at Impression Obsession! If you missed yesterday's post (with more shaker tag inspiration) check it out HERE.

Make an Easter Bunny Shaker Card! {New from Impression Obsession}

There's not much more fun than a SHAKER CARD! This sweet and springy Easter shaker card is shaped like an egg, and features the sweetest stamped bunnies from Impression Obsession. Let's take a look and I'll show you just how to create it yourself!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
The Inside Out Arch die is such a great shape on its own - but two of them paired up make a perfect egg!
  • Start by cutting out the arch towards the top of a panel of cardstock. This will become the shaker part.
  • Then die cut it again from pink cardstock (or the springy color of your choice!)
  • Stamp a sentiment and adhere the pink arch to your cardstock panel.
  • Add a piece of clear acetate behind the open area, and use a foam sheet or foam tape to add the dimension you need, filling your shaker with sequins.
Looking for more cute bunny ideas? Here's another sweet and simple card for springtime, a new baby, or Easter. Remember bunnies don't have to be white! These kraft colored bunnies are adorable too!

Look at These Sweet Stitched Flowers for Springtime Card Making!

Spring may or may not be in the air where you live, but either way it's time to start crafting up some fresh, springtime handmade cards. Today's cards feature sweet Stitched Flowers from Impression Obsession that are just in time for SPRING!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

I love flower dies that aren't too fussy or difficult to use. This set has some mix-and-matchability and there really aren't any rules as far as how you assemble these cuties. With die sets like this, I enjoy starting a project by die cutting in a bunch of assorted colors first. Then I have lots of pieces ready to play with as I figure out what I like best. On today's first card I created a card base with lots of depth, using the Inside Out Arch die to create a window. Then I nestled the blooms coming out of the space. The Jumbo Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner grounds the space to add some visual weight.

Next up, I used the same colors of flowers, (remember, I love to die cut a BUNCH of flowers at one time,) but I used those same colors for the leaves and stems too. Just a fun, colorful, playful take on the floral theme.  Don't be afraid to get a little silly, and creative!
The Stitched Flowers, Inside Out Arch, and Rounded Rectangle 2 are just a few of the cute new products in this month's release on the Impression Obsession website. Stop by to see all the products and then hop around to the designers' blogs. We're having a THREE DAY blog hop (this is day one!) and we've all got some fabulous new inspiration to share with you!

Impression Obsession Theme Day - In the Garden

There's always room in one's crafty collection for a few fresh floral stamps and sentiments, don't you agree? The sweet simplicity of the Garden Sayings clear stamp set, from Impression Obsession, makes this a great addition for friendship and springtime card making. Ready to take a peek at two simple floral cards?

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

The beautiful daisy stamp included in this set is just the right size for a focal point, or for a background. I've given you an idea of both. For today's first card, I stamped the daisy in black ink onto a die cut yellow oval. Then I added some details using a white gel pen.

Next, I stamped the daisy all over a panel of white cardstock, using yellow ink. Stamping in yellow makes it a little more subtle and helps the background not to become too busy,  keeping the focus on the sentiment and layered paper strips.

Today is Theme Day on the Impression Obsession blog, and our theme today is. . . . In the Garden! I hope you'll stop by the IO blog to see a list of everyone participating in today's theme. Go check out their garden-themed card making inspiration!
