How To Make Four Colorful Handmade Birthday Cards That ANYONE Will Love!

It is SO much fun to make birthday cards when we have adorable product to create with. Impression Obsession is rolling out their latest monthly bundle, called Birthday Hugs, and it includes coordinating stamps, dies, and stencils  to create a bevy of birthday cards for everyone on your list. If you know my style, you know I often start a project by stamping and cutting images to play with, while I plan what to create. HERE'S A TIP: To get started on multiple cards at once, like I did for today's cards, choose a color scheme and then stamp/cut a variety of images in each color. I had large and small presents, candles, and balloons all ready to go, in each color. Next, the fun part - creating!!

For the first card, I used one of the ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE 4x4 stencils to create the background stripes. If you love stencils, you will LOVE the ring of 12 (yes, 12) stencils including backgrounds, words, and shapes that coordinate with the stamps. (Hint. . . stamp the images, and then use coordinating stencils to add color!)

Next up, a star stencil background, stamped, die cut and stenciled candles . . .AND a stenciled sentiment! (How cute is THAT!?) I added some pen details to really make the sentiment POP. 

Remember I stamped and cut a bunch of candles at once . . .so I still had one ready to go for another card! Take a look at that yellow background - yep, another stencil! For this one, I traced around the fun confetti pattern with a white gel pen. 

And last but certainly not least, my favorite of these cards . . . balloons AND gifts! Stamp a Simple Winter Scene With Impression Obsession's December Limited Edition Stamps

If you're looking for a little more "all is calm, all is bright" in your crazy December, I have a lovely new stamp set to share with you today. This beauty will carry you through December and January card making for occasions far beyond Christmas. Today's card idea features the new limited edition stamp set from Impression Obsession, with crisp winter vibes and snowy country scenes.

All this card needed was black ink and some layers of paper and cardstock. The torn corrugated stock adds some nice texture, and I finished it off with twine and staples. This stamp set comes with some lovely sentiments, but I kept this one simple and striking for any occasion.

Happy November: the month where we begin that weird shift between fall and winter. The weather (at least in Florida) is confused and the stores are simultaneously filled with fall decor next to Christmas decor. This is a beautiful stamp set for watercoloring - but the stippled texture of the images looks really lovely stamped plain and simple as well. I stamped this image on kraft cardstock, die cut the rustic Deckled Frame rectangle, and then added a little ink to the edges. Some simple die cut greenery adds to the forest look, without being Christmasy. BUT. . .you could definitely add some festive Christmas elements to make this a Christmas card if you choose.

To create this card idea, begin by stamping leaves all over the background panel. Then, use colored pencils or watercolors to add autumn colors to the leaves. Don't worry about being too precise, there are no rules when it comes to fall leaves! 

Finish the card off with a simple sentiment on a die cut shape, plus some scraps and strips of paper to give the sentiment a landing spot and focal point.

Although I did some colored pencil coloring on this card, it's such a lovely image that would look beautiful with minimal or even no coloring. A quick brush of watercolor or even metallic heat embossing with no coloring at all would look fantastic.

Say BOO To This Month's Limited Edition Stamps from Impression Obsession!

There's spooky sweetness in this Halloween themed limited edition stamp set from Impression Obsession. Today we'll grab a white colored pencil for a simple coloring technique using these cute stamps, and I'll give you all the details on this month's stamp set.

To try out this simple coloring idea, begin with a stamped image on colored cardstock. You may need to experiment to find the sweet spot - you don't want the cardstock color to be so dark that black ink doesn't show up . . .but also dark enough that the white colored pencil shows up nicely. 

Then, simply add color to your images. After I was done, I used a white gel pen to add a few lines and fine tip details to finish it off. I love the gray and white paired with patterned papers from the Orange patterned paper pack, also from IO. I'm using these paper packs like CRAZY (just in case you haven't noticed, haha!)

It's Never Too Early For Christmas Cards! {IO Limited Edition Stamps}

The start of a new month means a new limited edition red rubber stamp set at Impression Obsession. This month's stamps will add some festive winter fun to your warm summer days. And really - every year, November and December have us wishing we had started our Christmas cards just a little earlier, so let's make it happen this year!  Today I'll show you a fun Christmas card idea using paper scraps and a simple stamped image.

I'm loving the new 6x6 patterned paper packs from IO. Each pack includes shades of one color - so the Warm Reds pack has reds and pinks that all blend together beautifully. And the Lime pack has really fabulous shades of bright greens. I keep every little piece of paper from these packs, because it's so fun to mix and match and make a background with whatever scraps you have on your desk.

After the busy background, a simple stamped Santa, colored with pencils, along with a great sentiment is all this card needed! Done! Cheers to a head start on Christmas cards! Here's a TIP: Remember, you could use this same patterned paper background for ANY kind of card, just mix up the color scheme to fit any occasion.

There's Spring Garden Goodness in the New Limited Edition Stamps from Impression Obsession!

For today's first card I simply stamped the glove three times and colored the images with colored pencils. This is a flat card that will pop in the mail easily and brighten someone's day!

Next up, I did a little inking and a little paper-piecing for this clean and simple spring card. First, I inked the blue and green background. Then, I stamped the image on top, and again on cardstock. I cut the bird bath, flowers, bird, and water out and glued them to the card. I finished it off with white gel pen to add highlights. Again, this is a flat card that is perfect for mailing!
