Try These Three Thank You Cards with a Simple Die-Cut Sentiment {Featuring Simon Says Stamp}

I'm always looking for fresh inspiration for thank you cards, and today's simple die set called Showboat Thank You (brand new from Simon Says Stamp) is the perfect start to three different ideas for crafting up a special thank you card.

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!

All of today's cards feature the Showboat Thank You die set from Simon Says Stamp. It's part of their BRAND NEW release, called Happy Camper, and you can check out the whole collection on their website today! (Yay!)

I paired this great new die set with the Just Sayin' collection from Spellbinders, also available from SSS. I love the fresh summer colors of the paper in this collection, and it pairs just perfectly with the Showboat Thank You dies.

I love a couple things about this thank you die set. First, the font is darling. Second, it cuts BEAUTIFULLY. And third, I absolutely LOVE that this sentiment is only two pieces. Unlike some die cut sentiments with lots of separate letters and fussy little pieces to reassemble, this set is easy peasy to line up the two words onto the die-cut background piece. That's a huge selling point for me, because I like QUICK and EASY card-making.
For today's last card, I used one of my favorite embossing techniques. To recreate this idea, cut strips of cardstock (or make use of all those scraps you've saved) and piece together to make your card front. (I adhere the pieces together on the back side with washi tape.) Then place that striped panel into an embossing folder and run through your machine. Lastly, adhere it to a card base and add the sentiment. (You can find another sample plus a tutorial on this blog post.)

Be sure to stop by the Simon Says Stamp website to check out the entire Happy Camper collection. Plus, there are so many fun events to celebrate this new release:

Make a Card for Any Occasion With Die Cut Patterned Paper Hearts

Today I'll let you in on one of my best card making tricks. It involves a little math (but not really!) Create a design formula that works over and over again in totally different ways. For instance, today's card = one die + one stamp + one pack of patterned paper but you can recreate this idea for absolutely any occasion, in any color, and with any sentiment stamp for countless variations. Let's look at today's card, and I'll show you what I mean!

I used one of my tried-and-true favorite little die sets, called Layered Heart Trio. This little powerhouse die set includes three solid hearts, plus three half-hearts. Use the hearts on their own, or mix and match colors or patterns and add the half heart on top. I love to cut this die a bunch of times on different papers,  and keep a little bag of colorful hearts ready to add onto projects. (I love that this set includes three hearts and three halves, so cutting multiples is super quick!)

Now that you know all about these adorable hearts - you can see how quick and simple it was to cut these hearts from assorted purple patterned papers and add them to a card base. Now . . .close your eyes and envision this card with a paper or cardstock in your stash. Need thank you cards? Or Valentines? Or birthday cards? This formula works for them all. Simply change up the colors, and change up the sentiment to suit your needs. (These hearts look amazing with glittered or metallic cardstock too!)
One of the great things about this card idea is that it's pretty flat and easy to mail. To have perfectly coordinating embellishments, that are also flat, I have one more trick for you. Grab a hole punch from the desk drawer, and use the scraps of patterned paper to punch some dots to add to your card. If you want to get fancy, you can even coat them with Glossy Accents or dimensional glaze to add shine and pop.

Today's card is so simple, and completely customizable! Remember, Impression Obsession is closing at the end of this year. You can still grab the adorable Layered Hearts Trio die set, and it is SUPER affordable, but once it sells out it's GONE. So please don't delay. Grab the things on your wish list, because items are selling out fast!

Six Simple Thank You Cards With Patterned Background Dies {Spellbinders Paper Arts}

Card-sized background dies are a powerhouse craft supply to have in your paper crafting stash. Today I'll show you SIX different ways to make a thank you card with just a background die and a simple sentiment. (Plus, maybe just a circle die or two.) Think about how you can use the background dies and simple sentiments already in your stash, to make these ideas your own!

Monochromatic Background With a POP of Shine:

First, let's start with a simple monochromatic look. Die cut the Super Stripes background from dark pink, and layer it onto a light pink background. For maximum dimension and shine on your sentiment, die cut it from multiple layers of cardstock (or a layer of black foam) and add dimensional glaze on top.

Negative Space Stripes:

Next, die cut the background from multiple colors and just use the negative pieces as stripes. Here's a tip: To make it simple, lay the outer piece on top of the cardstock panel like a template, (with a little piece of washi) and glue the pieces into the open spots. Then, lift the outer piece and you've got perfectly placed stripes.  If your sentiment looks like it'll get lost on a busy background, add some die-cut vellum to showcase your focal point.

Negative Space Sentiment:

Remember that shiny thank you on today's first card? I cut it from black foam - and then used the negative leftover piece to make this large circle. Think about how you can use the negative space left from your sentiment dies!

Background Stripes:

Next, let's look at three ways to use the Pennant Background Die. The first card uses the outline of the die, with strips of cardstock behind it for a striped effect.

Negative Space Pennants:

Remember my tip for the Negative Space Stripes card above? Here's the same technique with the pennant die. Use the outer piece as a template, and glue the pieces inside like you're doing a puzzle. Then, lift the outer piece out for perfectly placed triangles.

Shaker Card:

And last but NOT least...a shaker card! Add a sheet of acetate behind the die cut panel, pop it up on foam adhesive and add some sequins for a super festive thank you card.

Cheerful Spring Flower Card Ideas {Impression Obsession Theme Day}

Looking for some cheerful thank you card ideas, using simple die cut flowers? Today's blog post features three sweet floral card ideas to say THANKS! It's Theme Day on the Impression Obsession blog and we're celebrating all things spring flowers!

This blog post contains affiliate links. When you purchase through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!
All of today's cards began in the way that many of my projects begin. . . I pick some colors, and then die-cut a bunch of goodies to start with. Then, I see what I can create with those. Today I ended up with three similar cards which all coordinate nicely - this is perfect for the start of a gift set of cards, as I generally like to create cards that match somewhat, when creating a gift.

This floral die set is called Mother's Day Flowers, but as you can see, you aren't limited to Mother's Day for these cute daisies! The bloom, center, and leaves are all separate dies so it's really fun to mix and match the colors.
