Make Bold Christmas Cards with Red and White {+ a MAJOR Sale at Lil' Inker Designs!}

It's official. Thanksgiving has had it's day (here's hoping it was a GREAT one for you) and now I can OFFICIALLY be ALL Christmas ALL the time. Black Friday sales on my favorite crafty goods + festive holiday handmade cards are a GREAT way to kick off the season - don't ya think? 

So let's get right to the merrymaking (or should we say merrycrafting?) 

These cards were made with some of my favorite Christmas goodies from Lil' Inker Designs. The Christmas Word Tags Dies are a simple die set I turn to OVER AND OVER for holiday crafting. The set contains the words WISH, JOY, and HOPE. Let me tell you why I love them so much:

1. They cut like a DREAM. Easy peasy.
2. You can use them on their own as a tag, thanks to the little hole on the top corner of each.
3. You can just as easily snip that hole OFF to use as a sentiment on it's own.
4. All three words are attached together, so one pass through the machine gives you three FAST tags/sentiments. Mass producing cards or tags is fantastic with the Christmas Word Tags Dies.

I paired those fab Christmas words with one of my favorite Cover Up background dies from Lil' Inker. This one might not still be available, but you should check out all of them because I use my background dies a LOT! Check them all out here - and I'll be using another down below in my next card.

Leave a Little SPOOKY Wherever You Go {Handmade Halloween Cards with Lil' Inker}

 Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Halloween Blog Hop! There are a few spooktacular new goodies in the store and I'm excited to share them with you today! For both of today's cards, I paired the new goodies with some older Halloween products plus I added a completely NON-Halloween stamp set just to get crazy! Let's take a look at today's Halloween cards:

First up, is this witchy card featuring the Spooky Script Die as well as the Bats & Broomsticks Dies. But for a fun mix-and-match twist, I've also used the Sassy Girl Stamps on both of today's cards.
The original sentiment says "Leave a little sparkle wherever you go" but I stamped the sentiment in two sections and mixed it up with the die-cut word, SPOOKY. Super fun right?

TIP: One of the biggest perks of clear stamps is that you can SEE where you're stamping, but you can also SEE what you're inking. Ink the first part of the sentiment and stamp on cardstock. Clean off the stamp, and then ink the end of the sentiment.

This card  is a great example of using non-holiday products for holiday cards. To begin, I used the Stitched Mats: Circles to make my happy little patch of pumpkins. TIP: Trim a thin piece of brown cardstock to make the stems!  

I stamped the faces from the Boo and Faces stamps. Another non-Halloween product is the Fall Foliage dies that I used to cut out greenery for my pumpkin patch. I had a scrap of Gel Press printed and stenciled cardstock that was perfect for die-cutting the greenery from. And again, I used the Sassy Girl stamp set just as I did above, to make a Halloween-birthday sentiment. (Surprisingly, I know FOUR people who have a Halloween birthday!!! Isn't that fun and crazy!?)

For today's cards I made some funky and fun backgrounds on my Gel Press. The Gel Press is a rubbery gel-like plate that I rolled some ink onto and then pulled a print onto a sheet of white cardstock. (Not familiar with the Gel Press? Check out this blog post with tutorial, to learn all about it!)  

From there, I created my simple die-cut scene. I love the way the purples and blues, plus the splatters on top, created a spooky night sky. It's the perfect Halloween night scene! For this card I used the brand new Spooky Script die - isn't that font gorgeous (and well - SPOOKY with those eyes!?) It paired perfectly with a cute sentiment from the Boo & Faces stamp set. 

For the next card, I made my background the exact same way, rolling out three or four different shades of ink across the Gel Press. For this scene I focused on the large and small Spooky Word Dies. I added some enamel dot eyeballs . . .because, well - how could I not? ;)

To begin this card, I started with an inky Gel Press print I made with shades of yellow. I stamped the Fall Foliage images on top of it to create my own one of a kind patterned paper. I stamped the single leaf on another scrap and die-cut that one. Then I assembled a few layers and the die-cut BECAUSE and then finished it off with some sequins and a splatter of FSJ Dark Roast Silk.

I had so much fun mixing and matching patterned papers for today's card - I used the Build a Home Stamp and Die Bundle to make this cute scene. There are different windows and doors and accessories to dress up your houses, so there are really SO many possibilities! 

For the sentiment, I used the House & Home Stamp and Die Combo. This one can be yours FREE too!

Making a scene with stamps and dies like this is a great way to use up all the bitty pieces of patterned paper that you love too much to throw out. 

ORGANIZATION IDEA: A few years ago I pulled all of my 6x6 patterned papers out of their packs and reorganized them by color family - this makes it so easy to pick a few different papers that will work well together. Some people like to keep each collection together - but if you find yourself not using your stash of papers as much as you should - consider reorganizing! I took a big leap of faith, but I LOVE it!

Try These Sweet and Simple Sentiments for Thank You Cards {Lil' Inker Designs}

What a fun week it's been celebrating the Lil' Inker  June release blog hop! Today is Day 3, and I'm showcasing some sweet and simple sentiments for handmade thank you cards today. Saying THANK YOU is easy with this darling stamp set, called Hand Drawn Thankfulness. 

 The Hand Drawn Thankfulness stamp set has four sweet stamps to send appreciative thoughts to those you love. It pairs so well with all kinds of backgrounds, flowers, and more. For today's cards I focused on florals. This card features the Perky Posies die set - this is totally one of my go-to die sets. I use these flowers all the time, because they complement so many projects.

On the second card for today, I accented the stamped sentiment with the Fall Foliage stamp set. As you can see, the flowers in this set can be used all year long. It's a new-to-me set, but it's quickly becoming another set I pull out frequently!!!

You're My Cup of Tea Stacked Teacups Card {Lil' Inker Designs}

Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil’ Inker Designs new release blog hop. This is day 2 of our 3-day celebration of all the new goodies - and if you love coffee and tea, you're going to LOVE today's handmade card!

 The Time for Tea Die Set is simply amazing - the cup is large - but not too large, and it looks absolutely adorable die-cut from patterned paper! I had THE most fun picking out different patterns to try for this cups, and it was a great reason to dig into my stash of colorful papers!

I feel like this card has a bit of Mary Engelbreit flair to it (and I'm a longtime Mary Engelbreit fan, so I do like to channel her colors and style from time to time!)

After die-cutting two of the cups, it is easy-peasy to stack them, because the die cuts out the opening. No exacto-knife needed for this project! And the saucer - so fun with the cut and embossed lines. LOVE the details. (And that teabag!? Swoon!!!)

Plus there's an entire stamp set to coordinate, so the possibilities are ENDLESS, my friends!!! It has sentiments and borders for the teacup plus cute tiny sentiments and images that will fit on the teabag.
